25:1  Blessed is He Who has revealed unto His servants the Discrimination (or Criterion) that it may be an admonition to all peoples
25:2  He unto Whom belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, He has chosen no son nor has He any partner in the sovereignty. He has created everything, and then given it its measure (proportions)
25:3  Yet they take beside Him other gods who create not aught, but are themselves created, and cannot control harm or profit for themselves, and can control neither death, nor life, nor resurrection
25:4  And those who disbelieve say, "This is nothing but a lie which he has invented, and another people hath helped him with it;" But, in truth, it is they who have wrought an injustice and a falsehood
25:5  And they say, "Old folks´ tales, which he has written down while they are dictated to him morning and evening."
25:6  Say, "He Who knows the secret of the heavens and the earth, He has revealed it; verily, He is ever Forgiving, Merciful!"
25:7  And they say, "What ails this messenger that he eats food and walks in the markets? Why is not an angel sent down unto him, to be a Warner with him...
25:8  Or a treasure thrown down unto him, or why has he not a garden to eat from....?" And the unjust say, "You  only follow a man bewitched (or obsessed)."
25:9  See how they coin similitudes for you, so that they are all astray and cannot find a way
25:10  Blessed is He Who, if He will, can make for you better than all that - Gardens beneath which rivers flow - and can make for you castles (mansions, palaces)
25:11  Nay, but they deny the coming of the Hour, and for those who deny the Hour We have prepared a blaze
25:12  When it sees them from a far place, they shall hear its raging and roaring
25:13  And when they are thrown into a narrow place thereof, chained together, they shall pray for destruction there
25:14  Pray not that day for one destruction, but pray for many destructions
25:15  Say, "Is that better or the Garden of Eternity (Immortality) which is promised unto those who fear (ward off evil), which is ever a reward and a goal
25:16  Therein abiding, they shall have all that they desire. It is for your Lord a promise that must be fulfiled
25:17  And on the day when He will gather them and that which they served beside Allah, He will say, "Was it you who misled these my servants or did they themselves wander from the way?"
25:18  They will say, "Be you glorified! It was not befitting for us to take any patrons besides Thee; but Thou didst give them and their fathers ease until they forgot the Reminder and became a lost people!"
25:19  And thus have they proved you liars for what you say, and you cannot avert or obtain help. And he among you who does wrong, We will make him taste great torment
25:20  We have not sent before you any messengers, but lo! They ate food and walked in the markets; but We have made some of you a test for others: will you be steadfast? your Lord is ever Seer
25:21  And those who look not for a meeting with Us say, "Why are angels not sent down to us, or we do not see our Lord?" Assuredly they have an arrogant conceit of themselves and excessive is their insolence
25:22  On the day when they behold the angels, there will be no good tidings for the guilty; and the angels will say, "There is a forbidden barrier for you."
25:23  And We will turn on to the works which they have done, and make them like dust scattered
25:24  The companions of the Garden on that day shall be in a better abiding-place and a better noonday rest
25:25  The day the heavens shall be cleft asunder with the clouds, and the angels shall be sent down, descending in ranks
25:26  The true kingdom (sovereignty, dominion) on that day shall belong to the Beneficent, and it shall be a hard day for the disbelievers
25:27  And the day when the wrongdoers shall bite his hands and say, "O, would that I had chosen the way with the Messenger
25:28  "O, woe is me! Would that I had not taken such a one for a friend
25:29  "He verily led me astray from the Reminder after it had reached me. Satan is ever a deserter of men."
25:30  And the Messenger says, "My Lord! Verily, my own people have made this Quran of no account."
25:31  Thus have We made for every prophet an opponent from among the guilty; but your Lord is sufficient as good guide and helper
25:32  Those who disbelieve said, "Why is not the Quran sent down to him all at once (in one piece)?" It is revealed as it is so that We may strengthen your heart therewith, and We have rehearsed it to you gradually, in well-arranged stages
25:33  And they bring you no similitude but We reveal the truth and the best interpretation thereof (or a better argument)
25:34  They who shall be gathered upon their faces into hell, such are worse in plight and further from the path
25:35  And We did give to Moses the Book, and placed with him his brother, Aaron, as a minister (or Priest)
25:36  And We said, "Go you together to the people who have denied Our revelations. Then We destroyed them with utter destruction."
25:37  And the people of Noah, when they denied the messenger, We drowned them, and made them a sign for mankind. We prepared for the wrongdoers a grievous woe
25:38  And (the tribes of) A´ad and Thamud and the people of Ar´Rass, and many generations between them
25:39  For each of them We set forth parables and examples, and each one have We utterly ruined
25:40  Indeed, they have come past the cities which were rained on with an evil rain; have they not seen them? Nay, but they fear not the Resurrection (or hope not for resurrection)
25:41  And when they see you (Muhammad) they only took you for a jest, "Is this he whom Allah has sent as a Messenger
25:42  "He well-nigh leads us astray from our gods, had we not been constant to them." But they shall know, when they see the torment, who errs most from the path
25:43  Have you considered him who takes for his god his own lusts (prejudices, fantasies, superstitions)? Would you then be guardian over him
25:44  Or do you think that most of them hear or understand? They are but like the cattle, nay, they are further astray in the path
25:45  Have you not seen how your Lord spreads the shadow? Had He willed He could have made it still - We make the sun its guide
25:46  Then We contract it towards Us with a gradual contraction in easy stages
25:47  And He it is who made the night a covering for you; and sleep for repose, and made the day a resurrection
25:48  And He it is who sent the winds as glad tidings heralding His mercy; and We send down purifying water from the sky
25:49  That We may quicken therewith the dead land, and slake the thirst of the things We have created - beasts and men in great numbers
25:50  And verily, We have repeated it (the lesson) in various ways among them that they may remember; but most of mankind begrudge aught save ingratitude
25:51  But, had We pleased, We could have raised a Warner in every village (or population centre)
25:52  So obey not the disbelievers, but strive against them herewith (with the Quran) with great endeavour
25:53  He it is who has set free the two bodies of water (rivers and seas), one palatable and sweet, and the other salty and bitter, and has set a barrier between them, forbidding passage
25:54  And He it is who has created man from water, and has appointed for him kindred by blood and kindred by marriage for your Lord is ever Powerful
25:55  Yet they worship beside Allah what can neither profit them nor harm them; but the disbeliever is ever a partisan of evil against his Lord
25:56  We have only sent you to give glad tidings and as a Warner
25:57  Say, "I ask you for no reward for this, save that whoever will may choose a way unto his Lord."
25:58  And rely you upon the Living One who dies not; and celebrate His praise; He is sufficient as Knower about the faults of His servants
25:59  He who created the heavens and the earth, and what is between them, in six days, and then mounted the Throne; the Beneficent! Ask any one who is aware concerning Him
25:60  And when it is said unto them, "Adore you the Beneficent", they say, "What is the Beneficent? Shall we adore what you do order us?" And it only increases their aversion
25:61  Blessed be He who placed in the heavens mansions (constellations) of stars, and has placed therein a great lamp and an illuminating moon
25:62  And He it is who made the night and the day alternating, for him who desires to remember or who desires thankfulness
25:63  And the faithful servants of the Beneficent are those who walk upon the earth modestly, and when the ignorant (or foolish) address them, answer, "Peace!"
25:64  And those who pass the night before their Lord, prostrate and standing
25:65  And those who say, "Our Lord! Avert from us the doom of hell; verily, its wrath is indeed a grievous affliction
25:66  "Verily, indeed an evil abode and state."
25:67  And those who when they spend are neither extravagant nor miserly, but who always take their stand between the two
25:68  And those who call not upon another god with Allah; nor take the life which Allah has forbidden save in justice; nor commit adultery (or fornication) - for he who does that shall pay the penalty
25:69  The penalty will be doubled for him on the Day of Judgment, and he will abide therein despised forever
25:70  Save he who repents and believes and does righteous work; for such Allah will change their evil deeds to good deeds. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful
25:71  And he who repents and does good, verily, he has turned to Allah with true conversion
25:72  And those who will not witness vanity (frivolous, foolish, ignorant, futile and useless things, falsehood); and when they pass by vain (frivolous, foolish, futile, ignorant, false) discourse, pass by with dignity
25:73  And those who when they are reminded of the revelations of their Lord, fall not deaf and blind thereat
25:74  And those who say, "Our Lord! Grant us comfort and cheer from our wives and offspring, and make us models for all those who ward off evil (or to lead the righteous)."
25:75  These shall be rewarded with a high place for that they were steadfast: and they will meet therein with welcome and peace
25:76  Abiding therein for ever; a happy abode and state
25:77  Say (to the rejecters), "My Lord is not concerned (or uneased) because of you if you call not on Him (in prayer); but you have denied (Him or the Truth), therefore will there be judgment."
