Or they say, "He has invented it." Say, "If I have invented it then not you have power for me against Allah anything. He knows best of what you utter concerning it. Sufficient (is) He (as) a Witness between me and between you, and He (is) the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
View 78 More Translations ↓Or do they say, “He has invented all this”? Say [O Muhammad]: “Had I invented it, you would not be of the least help to me against God. He is fully aware of that [slander] into which you so recklessly plunge: enough is He as a witness between me and you! And [withal,] He alone is truly-forgiving, a true dispenser of grace.”
Or do they say, 'He has forged it'? Say: 'If I have forged it, you have no power to help me against God. He knows very well what you are pressing upon; He suffices as a witness between me and you; He is the All-forgiving, the All-compassionate.
Or do they say, "He has forged it"? Say: "Had I forged it, then can ye obtain no single (blessing) for me from Allah. He knows best of that whereof ye talk (so glibly)! Enough is He for a witness between me and you! And he is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
أَمۡ یَقُولُونَ ٱفۡتَرَىٰهُۖ قُلۡ إِنِ ٱفۡتَرَیۡتُهُۥ فَلَا تَمۡلِكُونَ لِی مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَیۡءًاۖ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا تُفِیضُونَ فِیهِۚ كَفَىٰ بِهِۦ شَهِیدَۢا بَیۡنِی وَبَیۡنَكُمۡۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِیمُ ٨
am yaqūlūna if'tarāhu qul ini if'taraytuhu falā tamlikūna lī mina l-lahi shayan huwa aʿlamu bimā tufīḍūna fīhi kafā bihi shahīdan baynī wabaynakum wahuwa l-ghafūru l-raḥīm
