4:83
وَإِذَا جَاءَهُمْ أَمْر ٌ مِنَ الأَمْنِ أَوِ الْخَوْفِ أَذَاعُوا بِه ِِ وَلَوْ رَدُّوهُ~ُ إِلَى الرَّسُولِ وَإِلَى أُوْلِي الأَمْرِ مِنْهُمْ لَعَلِمَهُ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَنْبِطُونَه ُُ مِنْهُمْ وَلَوْلاَ فَضْلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ لاَتَّبَعْتُمُ الشَّيْطَانَ إِلاَّ قَلِيلا ً
Wa 'Idhā Jā'ahum 'Amrun Mina Al-'Amni 'Awi Al-Khawfi 'Adhā`ū Bihi Wa Law Raddūhu 'Ilá Ar-Rasūli Wa 'Ilá 'Ūlī Al-'Amri Minhum La`alimahu Al-Ladhīna Yastanbiţūnahu Minhum Wa Lawlā FaĐlu Allāhi `Alaykum Wa Raĥmatuhu Lāttaba`tumu Ash-Shayţāna 'Illā Qalīlāan
And if any matter regarding security, or fear, comes to them they make it publicly known, but if they had referred it to the messenger and to those entrusted from them then it would have been known by those who studied it from them. And had it not been for the grace of God upon you and His mercy, you would have followed the devil, except for a few.
