Generally Accepted Translations of the Meaning
Muhammad Asad Whenever there comes unto them any new reminder from their Sustainer, they but listen to it with playful amusement,
M. M. Pickthall Never cometh there unto them a new reminder from their Lord but they listen to it while they play,
Shakir There comes not to them a new reminder from their Lord but they hear it while they sport,
Yusuf Ali Never comes (aught) to them of a renewed Message from their Lord, but they listen to it as in jest,-
[Al-Muntakhab] No fresh divine message or a warning comes to them from Allah, their Creator, but they listen to it mockingly and laugh it to scorn
[Progressive Muslims] When a reminder comes to them from their Lord that is new, they listen to it while playing.
Abdel Haleem Whenever any fresh revelation comes to them from their Lord, they listen to it playfully
Abdul Majid Daryabadi There cometh not unto them a fresh admonition from their Lord but they listen to it while they are playing.
