Generally Accepted Translations of the Meaning
Muhammad Asad had there been in heaven or on earth any deities other than God, both [those realms would surely have fallen into ruin! But limitless in His glory is God, enthroned in His awesome almightiness far] above anything that men may devise by way of definition!
M. M. Pickthall If there were therein gods beside Allah, then verily both (the heavens and the earth) had been disordered. Glorified be Allah, the Lord of the Throne, from all that they ascribe (unto Him).
Shakir If there had been in them any gods except Allah, they would both have certainly been in a state of disorder; therefore glory be to Allah, the Lord of the dominion, above what they attribute (to Him).
Yusuf Ali If there were, in the heavens and the earth, other gods besides Allah, there would have been confusion in both! but glory to Allah, the Lord of the Throne: (High is He) above what they attribute to Him!
[Al-Muntakhab] Indeed, if there be Ilahs other than Allah or sharing His divine nature and attributes, the heavens and the earth would have become corrupt and been ruined. Therefore, praise be to Allah and extolled are His glorious attributes the sole Sovereign of the Supreme Throne. He is far above what they ascribe to Him.

Farook Malik had there been in heaven or on earth [Lit., "in those two [realms]", alluding to the first clause of verse 19 above.] any deities other than God, both [those realms would surely have fallen into ruin! But limitless in His glory is God, enthroned in His awesome almightiness [Lit., "the Sustainer (rabb) of the awesome throne of almightiness". Bijan Moeinian If there were any other gods, there would have been chaos in the universe (as is the case in the Greek mythology in which the gods are always fighting among themselves.) The King of the entire universe is far high above what they ascribe to Him (such as having begotten a son.)
Faridul Haque If other than Allah, there were Gods * in the heavens and the earth, they would be destroyed; therefore Purity is to Allah, Owner of the Throne, from the matters that they fabricate. (* Which is not possible. ** The heavens and the earth.)
Hasan Al-Fatih Qaribullah Had there been gods in heaven or earth, other than Allah, both would indeed have been ruined. Exalted be Allah, Lord of the Throne, above that they describe.
Maulana Muhammad Ali If there were in them gods besides Allah, they would both have been in disorder. So glory be to Allah, the Lord of the Throne, being above what they describe!
Muhammad Ahmed - Samira Had there been gods apart from God, both (the heavens and the earth) would have been despoiled. Much too glorious is God, the Lord of the mighty throne, for things they assert!
Sher Ali If there had been in the heavens and the earth other gods beside ALLAH, then surely both would have gone to ruin. Glorified then be ALLAH, the Lord of the Throne, far above what they attribute to HIM.
