And undoubtedly, they used to say.
They used to say,
What, would they then say
Had we a reminder from those of yore
And if they (the disbelievers) were saying (E)
The Disbelievers used to say
And indeed the disbelievers used to say,
And, surely, the Meccan disbelievers used to say
And no doubt, these people used to say
And surely, these (infidels) used to say
And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say
And indeed they truly used to say
Surely they used to say:
And they used to say:
Certainly, some said,…
Even though they used to say,
There were some [people] saying:
And surely, they were saying.
They have long been saying:
Indeed, they (the dualists) were saying:
And verily they used to say:
Notwithstanding that before the Prophet's mission there were those* who habited in falsehood and expressed their thoughts in words, thus
And they used to say,
And indeed, they used to surely say,
