We have opened for you a clear victory.
So that God may forgive you your past and future sins, complete His favor upon you, and guide you on a straight path.
And so that God may grant you a mighty victory.
He is the One who sent down tranquility into the hearts of the believers, so that they may grow in faith upon their faith. To God belong the forces of the heavens and the earth, and God is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
He will admit the believing men and believing women into gardens with rivers flowing beneath them, dwelling there forever, and He will erase their sins. That, with God, is a supreme triumph.
He will punish the hypocrite men and hypocrite women, and the polytheist men and polytheist women who harbor evil thoughts about God. Upon them falls the wheel of misfortune. God is angry with them, has cursed them, and has prepared Hell for them. What a wretched destination!
To God belong the forces of the heavens and the earth, and God is Almighty, All-Wise.
We have sent you as a witness, a bearer of good news, and a warner.
So that you may believe in God and His Messenger, support him, honor him, and glorify Him morning and evening.
Those who pledge allegiance to you are pledging allegiance to God. The Hand of God is over their hands. Whoever breaks their pledge breaks it only against themselves, but whoever fulfills what they have pledged to God, He will grant them a great reward.
Those desert Arabs who stayed behind will say to you, "Our wealth and our families kept us busy, so ask forgiveness for us." They say with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say, "Who can protect you from God at all if He intends harm for you, or if He intends benefit for you?" No, God is fully aware of what you do.
You thought that the Messenger and the believers would never return to their families, and this was made appealing in your hearts. You harbored evil thoughts and became a ruined people.
Whoever does not believe in God and His Messenger, We have prepared a blazing fire for the disbelievers.
To God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills, and God is Forgiving, Merciful.
Those who stayed behind will say, when you set out to collect the spoils, "Let us follow you." They want to change the word of God. Say, "You will not follow us. God has already declared this." Then they will say, "You are just jealous of us." No, they understand very little.
Say to those desert Arabs who stayed behind, "You will be called to face a people of severe might. You will fight them, or they will submit. If you obey, God will give you a good reward, but if you turn away as you turned away before, He will punish you with a painful punishment."
There is no blame on the blind, no blame on the one with a limp, and no blame on the sick. Whoever obeys God and His Messenger, He will admit into gardens with rivers flowing beneath them. But whoever turns away, He will punish with a painful punishment.
God was pleased with the believers when they pledged allegiance to you under the tree. He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down tranquility upon them and rewarded them with a near victory.
And abundant gains for them to take. God is Almighty, All-Wise.
God has promised you abundant gains that you will take. He hastened this for you and held back the hands of people from you, so it would be a sign for the believers and guide you to a straight path.
There are other gains you were not yet able to achieve, but God has already encompassed them. God has power over all things.
If those who disbelieved had fought you, they would have turned their backs in flight, then found no protector or helper.
This is the way of God that has passed before, and you will never find any change in the way of God.
He is the One who held back their hands from you and your hands from them in the valley of Mecca, after He had given you victory over them. God sees everything you do.
They are the ones who disbelieved and barred you from the Sacred Mosque, and prevented the sacrificial animals from reaching their place. Were it not for believing men and believing women unknown to you, whom you might have trampled and thus incurred guilt on their account unknowingly—so that God might admit into His mercy whom He wills. Had they been separated, We would have punished those among them who disbelieved with a painful punishment.
When the disbelievers filled their hearts with fierce pride, the pride of ignorance, God sent down His tranquility upon His Messenger and upon the believers, binding them to the word of reverence, for they were most worthy of it and deserving of it. God has full knowledge of all things.
God has truly fulfilled His Messenger's vision: you will enter the Sacred Mosque, if God wills, in safety, with your heads shaved or hair trimmed, fearing nothing. He knew what you did not know, and He granted before that a victory close at hand.
He is the One who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to make it prevail over all religions. God is sufficient as a Witness.
Muhammad is the Messenger of God. Those with him are fierce against the disbelievers yet compassionate among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating, seeking God's grace and pleasure. Their mark is on their faces from the trace of prostration. That is their description in the Torah. Their description in the Gospel is like a seed that sprouts its shoot, then strengthens it, then grows thick, then stands firm on its stalk, delighting the sowers, so that through them He may enrage the disbelievers. God has promised those among them who believe and do righteous deeds forgiveness and a great reward.
