Say, “It has been revealed to me that a band of the Jinn listened in, and said, ‘We did hear a wonderous recital
It guides to sound judgment. So, we have believed in it, and we will never associate anyone as a partner with our Rabb.
And [it guides] that exalted is our Rabb’s majesty. HE has taken neither a consort nor a son.
And that it was ever the foolish amongst us speaking blatant falsehood against Allah.
And that we had [foolishly] assumed that humans and Jinn would never speak a lie against Allah.
And it was that individuals among humans did seek refuge with individuals amongst the Jinn. Thereby, they made them more stifled [of reason]—
And they had assumed, as you all had assumed, that Allah will never raise anyone.
And [we also foolishly assumed] that we had touched the Heavens. But [instead], we found [the sky] filled with an intense shielding force and a flame.
And [we also assumed] that we were to lounge at some of its safe places for audience. [We are not to pierce the hidden], so whosoever seeks to listen, now [he should know] that he will find a ready and vigilant flame for him.
And [it guides us] that we cannot ascertain whether ill is intended with anyone on the land, or whether it is rectitude that their Rabb has intended for them.
And that of us are the righteous and of us are short of that. Ever are we in separate lanes.
And we have concluded that we can never thwart Allah on the earth and never elude HIM by fleeing.
And as soon as we had heard the Guidance, we believed in it. For he who believes in his Rabb— he will not fear a shortfall, nor a stifling [of reason].
And among us are the ones who have submitted to God [i.e., are Muslims] and among us are the ones who flout justice. As for those who have submitted themselves to God— they have opted for rectitude.
And as for the ones who flout justice— they ever are kindling for Jahannam.’”
And [indeed]: if they [i.e., the disbelievers] had been steadfast on the path, WE would have indeed watered them with downpouring water,
to test them through it. And whosoever turns away from the remembrance of his Rabb, HE will make him pass through a mounting chastisement.
And [indeed]: the houses of worship belong to Allah. So, do not invoke anyone alongside Allah.
And [indeed it was so] that when the servant of Allah stood up to invoke HIM in prayer, they [i.e., Jinn] almost glued together around him.
Say, “I invoke only MY Rabb, and I do not associate anyone with HIM.”
Say, “I own for you neither a harm, nor an act of rectitude.”
Say, “No one can shield me from Allah, and never shall I find apart from HIM a recourse to refuge.
[I am not any different from any mortal] except by a conveyance from Allah and HIS messages. And whosoever disobeys Allah and HIS messenger— for him, assuredly, is the fore of Jahannam— abiders therein forever.”
[They are allowed to disobey] until when they get to see what they are promised— then they shall find out who is weaker helper wise, and more meagre, quantitatively.
Say, “I cannot ascertain whether that which you have been forewarned of is imminent or whether my Rabb sets a distant time.
Knower of the unseeable Reality— HE does not make HIS unseeable Reality evident upon anyone.
Except whom HE approves of, from amongst the messengers. And then indeed, HE embeds vigilant guards [to be] present with him and beyond him,
That HE may make evident that they did indeed convey the messages of their Rabb. HE has circumscribed what is with them and HE has tallied everything by number.
