| their hearts | | qulūbihim | | قُلُوبِهِمْ | | ق ل ب | |
| (is) a disease | | maraḍun | | مَرَضٌ | | م ر ض | |
| and those who spread rumors | | wal-mur'jifūna | | وَالْمُرْجِفُونَ | | ر ج ف | |
| the city, | | l-madīnati | | الْمَدِينَةِ | | م د ن | |
| We will let them overpower | | lanugh'riyannaka | | لَنُغْرِيَنَّكَ | | غ ر و | |
| they will remain your neighbors | | yujāwirūnaka | | يُجَاوِرُونَكَ | | ج و ر | |
| (for) a little, | | qalīlan | | قَلِيلًا | | ق ل ل | |
