| | Mohammad Shafi rendition of Surah The Beneficent, The Mercy Giving, The Merciful(ar-Rahman) --- |
---|
55:1 | | The Gracious On |
55:2 | | HE has given the knowledge of the Qur'aan |
55:3 | | HE has created mankind |
55:4 | | He has taught mankind the art and skill of communicating with one another |
55:5 | | [HE has created] the sun and the moon on accurately measured dimentions, properties and positions. |
55:6 | | And the star and the tree prostrate |
55:7 | | And the sky He has raised high and set up the balance |
55:8 | | So that you breach not that balance |
55:9 | | And weigh things correctly, and cut not the measure short |
55:10 | | And He has made the earth suitable for living beings |
55:11 | | Therein is fruit, and the palm tree with its sheathed clusters of date |
55:12 | | And the grain in its husk, and the plants giving out fragrance |
55:13 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:14 | | He has created mankind of clay, as [mankind make] pottery [out of it] |
55:15 | | And He has created the invisible beings [jinns] out of radiation from fire. |
55:16 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:17 | | Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests |
55:18 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:19 | | He has made the two streams of water flow side by sid |
55:20 | | Between them is a barrier which they do not transgress. |
55:21 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:22 | | Out of these two come forth pearls, and precious corals |
55:23 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:24 | | And it is He Who has made it possible for the ships to remain afloat like some signboards raised in the sea |
55:25 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:26 | | Everything [every ship] thereon [on the sea] is passin |
55:27 | | And, what is lasting is the Presence of your Lord, Majestic and Magnanimous |
55:28 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:29 | | Every single thing in the heavens and on earth takes its orders from Him. Every day it is He Who manifests Himself gloriously [and there is none to overcome His Power! |
55:30 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:31 | | We shall soon attend to you, O you sin-laden two [mankind and jinn] |
55:32 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:33 | | O assembly of the jinn and mankind! If you think you can pass beyond the frontiers of the heavens and the earth, then pass! You cannot pass beyond, save by a sanction [from Allah]! |
55:34 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:35 | | A trail of fire and smoke will be sent upon you, and you both will be left with no help |
55:36 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:37 | | Then as the sky disintegrates it would appear a rose-coloured stretch of leather |
55:38 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:39 | | And on that Day none — neither mankind nor jinn — will be questioned about his/her sins |
55:40 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:41 | | All the sinners shall be recognised by distinguishing marks on them, and seized by their forelocks and their feet |
55:42 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:43 | | This is the Hell that the sinners had dismissed as being a lie |
55:44 | | They wander to and fro between it [burning hot flame] and burning-hot water |
55:45 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:46 | | And for those who fear their Lord's [Invincible] Position, two Gardens [of Paradise, each for mankind and jinn |
55:47 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:48 | | [The two Gardens, each] having sections of various kinds |
55:49 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:50 | | In those two [gardens] flow two springs |
55:51 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:52 | | In those two [gardens] are pairs of every fruit |
55:53 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:54 | | [The blessed inhabitants of the gardens] recline upon carpets lined with rich brocade; and the fruit of both those gardens is within easy reach |
55:55 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:56 | | In those [gardens] are mates of modest gaze, whom neither man nor any jinn had touched ever before |
55:57 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:58 | | [Those mates are] as though they were rubies and precious corals |
55:59 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:60 | | Could the reward for good deeds be anything but good |
55:61 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:62 | | And there are two gardens besides those two |
55:63 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny? &mdash |
55:64 | | Both [gardens] deep green in colour! |
55:65 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:66 | | In those two [gardens], two gushing springs |
55:67 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:68 | | In both [gardens], fruits, dates and pomegranates |
55:69 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:70 | | In these [gardens] are things excellent and beautiful |
55:71 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:72 | | [In those gardens is companionship of] modest Houris in pavilions |
55:73 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:74 | | [Houris] whom neither man nor any jinn had ever touched befor |
55:75 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny |
55:76 | | [Dwellers of Paradise] recline upon green meadows and beautiful carpet |
55:77 | | So, which of your Lordճ Means of Power will you deny? |
55:78 | | Blessed is the Name of your Lord, Majestic and Glorified |
