النَّبِيُّ

you divorce

ṭallaqtumu

طَلَّقْتُمُ

[the] women,

l-nisāa

النِّسَاءَ

ن س و

then divorce them

faṭalliqūhunna

فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ

ط ل ق

for their waiting period,

liʿiddatihinna

لِعِدَّتِهِنَّ

ع د د

and keep count

wa-aḥṣū

وَأَحْصُوا

ح ص ى

(of) the waiting period,

l-ʿidata

الْعِدَّةَ

ع د د

and fear

wa-ittaqū

وَاتَّقُوا

و ق ى

Allah,

l-laha

اللَّهَ

ا ل ه

your Lord.

rabbakum

رَبَّكُمْ

ر ب ب

(Do) not

لَا

ل ا

expel them

tukh'rijūhunna

تُخْرِجُوهُنَّ

خ ر ج

from

min

مِنْ

م ن

their houses,

buyūtihinna

بُيُوتِهِنَّ

ب ى ت

and not

walā

وَلَا

ل ا

they should leave

yakhruj'na

يَخْرُجْنَ

خ ر ج

except

illā

إِلَّا

ا ل ل ا

that

an

أَنْ

ا ن

they commit

yatīna

يَأْتِينَ

ا ت ى

an immorality

bifāḥishatin

بِفَاحِشَةٍ

ف ح ش

clear.

mubayyinatin

مُبَيِّنَةٍ

ب ى ن

And these

watil'ka

وَتِلْكَ

ت ل ك

(are the) limits

ḥudūdu

حُدُودُ

ح د د

(of) Allah.

l-lahi

اللَّهِ

ا ل ه

And whoever

waman

وَمَنْ

م ن

transgresses

yataʿadda

يَتَعَدَّ

ع د و

(the) limits

ḥudūda

حُدُودَ

ح د د

(of) Allah

l-lahi

اللَّهِ

ا ل ه

then certainly

faqad

فَقَدْ

ق د

he has wronged

ẓalama

ظَلَمَ

ظ ل م

himself.

nafsahu

نَفْسَهُ

ن ف س

Not

lā

لَا

ل ا

you know;

tadrī

تَدْرِي

د ر ى

Perhaps

laʿalla

لَعَلَّ

ل ع ل ل

Allah

l-laha

اللَّهَ

will bring about,

yuḥ'dithu

يُحْدِثُ

ح د ث

after

baʿda

بَعْدَ

ب ع د

that,

dhālika

ذَلِكَ

ذ ل ك

a matter.
