| Arabic | | فَدَلَّاهُمَا بِغُرُورٍ فَلَمَّا ذَاقَا الشَّجَرَةَ بَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْآتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِن وَرَقِ الْجَنَّةِ وَنَادَاهُمَا رَبُّهُمَا أَلَمْ أَنْهَكُمَا عَن تِلْكُمَا الشَّجَرَةِ وَأَقُل لَّكُمَا إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَكُمَا عَدُوٌّ مُّبِين |  |

| and they began | waṭafiqā | وَطَفِقَا | ط ف ق | |
| (to) fasten | yakhṣifāni | يَخْصِفَانِ | خ ص ف | |
| over themselves | ʿalayhimā | عَلَيْهِمَا | ع ل ى | |
| (the) leaves | waraqi | وَرَقِ | و ر ق | |
| (of) the Garden. | l-janati | الْجَنَّةِ | ج ن ن | |
| And called them both | wanādāhumā | وَنَادَاهُمَا | ن د ى | |
| their Lord, | rabbuhumā | رَبُّهُمَا | ر ب ب | |
| I forbid you both | anhakumā | أَنْهَكُمَا | ن ه ى | |
| this | til'kumā | تِلْكُمَا | ت ل ك | |
| [the] tree | l-shajarati | الشَّجَرَةِ | ش ج ر | |
| and [I] say | wa-aqul | وَأَقُلْ | ق و ل | |
| to both of you, | lakumā | لَكُمَا | ل | |
| [the] Shaitaan | l-shayṭāna | الشَّيْطَانَ | ش ط ن | |
| (is) to both of you | lakumā | لَكُمَا | ل | |
| an enemy | ʿaduwwun | عَدُوٌّ | ع د و | |
| open?" | mubīnun | مُبِينٌ | ب ى ن | |
