Qala qad waqaAAa AAalaykum min rabbikum rijsun waghadabun atujadiloonanee fee asma-in sammaytumooha antum waabaokum ma nazzala Allahu biha min sultanin faintathiroo innee maAAakum mina almuntathireena
Transliteration-2
qāla qad waqaʿa ʿalaykum min rabbikum rij'sun waghaḍabun atujādilūnanī fī asmāin sammaytumūhā antum waābāukum mā nazzala l-lahu bihā min sul'ṭānin fa-intaẓirū innī maʿakum mina l-muntaẓirīn
He said, "Verily has fallen upon you from your Lord punishment and anger. Do you dispute with me concerning names you have named them - you and your forefathers not (has) sent down Allah for it any authority? Then wait, indeed, I am with you of the ones who wait.

Said [Hud]: "You are already beset by loath some evils and by your Sustainer's condemnation! Do you argue with me about the [empty] names which you have invented - you and your forefathers - for which God has bestowed no warrant from on high? Wait, then, [for what will happen:] verily, I shall wait with you!"
He said: Terror and wrath from your Lord have already fallen on you. Would ye wrangle with me over names which ye have named, ye and your fathers, for which no warrant from Allah hath been revealed? Then await (the consequence), lo! I (also) am of those awaiting (it)
He said: "Punishment and wrath have already come upon you from your Lord: dispute ye with me over names which ye have devised - ye and your fathers,- without authority from Allah? then wait: I am amongst you, also waiting."
He said: Indeed uncleanness and wrath from your Lord have lighted upon you; what! do you dispute with me about names which you and your fathers have given? Allah has not sent any authority for them; wait then, I too with you will be of those who wait
He said, Your Lords wrath and indignation have already fallen upon you. Would you dispute with me about mere names, which you and your fathers have invented, and for which God has revealed no authority? Wait then if you will: I am waiting alongside you
He said: Surely, fell on you disgrace and anger from your Lord. Dispute you with me over names which you named, you and your fathers, for which God sent not down any authority? Then, wait awhile. Truly, I will be with you among the ones who are waiting awhile.
He said: "A blight plus wrath from your Lord have already fallen on you. Are you arguing with me about some names that you and your forefathers have made up? God has not sent down any authority for them. Just wait: I am waiting alongside you."
He said, “You will certainly be subjected to your Lord’s torment and wrath. Do you dispute with me regarding the so-called gods which you and your forefathers have made up—a practice Allah has never authorized? Then wait! I too am waiting with you.”
[Hud] said, "You are already set to receive your Lord's condemnation and wrath. Do you argue with me about the names which you and your forefathers have invented, names for which God has given no authority? Wait, then, [for what will happen,] I will wait with you."
(Hud) said: “Surely punishment and wrath have fallen on you from your Lord. Do you dispute with me about mere names which you and your fathers have named for which Allah has not sent down any sanction? Then wait (for the decision of Allah), surely I am with you of those who wait.”
He said, “Defilement and wrath have already come upon you from your Lord. Do you dispute with me over names that you have named—you and your fathers—for which God has sent down no authority? Then wait! Truly I am waiting along with you.
He said: "An affliction and wrath shall befall you from your Lord. Do you argue with me over names which you and your fathers have created with no authority being sent down by God Wait then, and I will wait with you."
He said, ‘You are already set to receive your Lord’s loathing and anger. Are you arguing with me about mere names you and your forefathers invented, names for which God has given no sanction? Just wait; I too am waiting.&rsquo
He said: surely there have befallen you wrath and indignation from your Lord. Dispute ye with me over names ye have named, ye and your fathers, for which Allah hath sent down no warranty? Wait then; I also will be with you of those who wait
He replied: "You have already been beset with punishment and the wrath of God. Why dispute with me about names invented by you and your ancestors for which no sanction was sent down? So wait (for what is to come), I am waiting with you."
He said, ´Punishment and anger have come down on you from your Lord. Do you argue with me regarding names which you and your forefathers invented and for which Allah has sent down no authority? Wait, then; I am waiting with you.´
He (Hud) said: "Already abhorrence and anger (i.e. idol-worship in blind imitation of your forefathers) from your Lord have befallen you. What, do you dispute with me about mere designations which you and your forefathers invented and for which God has not sent down any authority? (If that is the case) then wait, as indeed I too am among those who wait."
He said, ‘There has become due against you a punishment and wrath from your Lord. Do you dispute with me regarding names which you have named —you and your fathers— for which Allah has not sent down any authority? So wait! I too am waiting along with you.&rsquo
He said, "Already have fallen upon you from your Lord terror and wrath; do you wrangle with me about names, which you and your fathers have named yourselves, for which Allah sent down no warrant. Then wait expectant, lo! I, too, am of those waiting
He said, "Abomination and anger from your Lord have already befallen you. Do you dispute with me over names you have named, you and your fathers, (for) in no way has Allah ever sent down regarding them any all-binding authority? So, await, surely I will be with you among (the ones) a waiting."
He replied, "You will certainly be afflicted by wickedness and the wrath of God. Do you dispute with me about the names of that which you and your fathers have invented? God has given no authority to those names. Wait for God's decree and I, too, am waiting with you."
He said, .The punishment and the anger from your Lord have fallen upon you. Do you quarrel with me about mere names that you and your fathers have concocted and for which Allah has sent down no authority? So, wait. I am one of those waiting with you
(Aad were powerful people but their society had gone unjust. Since there is a Law of Respite for nations, they flourished and were unable to see the wrong thus far). Hud said, "Allah's Law of Requital is already hovering over you. Do you argue with me about certain names, false authorities that you and your forefathers have fabricated? And Allah never authorized them (53:23). Then wait for the consequences, and I am also waiting."
He said: "Punishment and anger have already come to you from your Lord: Do you (still) argue with me over names which you have made up—, you and your fathers— Without authority from Allah? Then wait, I am with you among those who are waiting."
[Hud] said, "Already have defilement and anger fallen upon you from your Lord. Do you dispute with me concerning [mere] names you have named them, you and your fathers, for which Allah has not sent down any authority? Then wait; indeed, I am with you among those who wait."
Hud said: "You have already incurred the blight and wrath of your Lord. Would you dispute with me about mere names which you and your forefathers have invented, and for which Allah has revealed no sanction? If so then wait for the decision of Allah, I too will wait with you."
Dr. Munir Munshey
(Hood) said, "The wrath and the curse of your Lord are already upon you. Do you argue with me concerning (just) some names that you and your forefathers have conjured up. Allah has not revealed any authority for them. So wait on, I too shall wait along with you."

(Hud) said: “Surely, has descended over you from your Nourisher-Sustainer Rijs and Ghazab. Do you make arguments with me in favour of (imaginary) titles, that which you (yourselves) have named — you and your fathers? Allah did not send with such (personalities) any of the authority. Then wait, surely I am along with you, out of those, who are waiting.
He said, 'Condemnation and wrath have befallen you from your Lord. Are you arguing with me over names, which you and your ancestors invented, for which God sent down no authority? Just wait; I am waiting with you.'
Hud warned them: ´Surely punishment and wrath from your Lord have befallen upon you. Do you dispute with me about mere names that you and your forefathers have concocted and for which Allah has sent down no sanction? Wait, then, and I too am with you among those who wait.´

He (Hud) said: filth and anger from your Master have fallen on you, do you argue with me about names which you and your fathers named them, when God did not send down any reason for it? So wait and I wait with you
He said, “Punishment upon punishment has already come upon you from your Lord. Do you dispute with me over names which you have devised, you and your ancestors, without authority from God. But wait, I am among you also waiting.
Hud said, “May punishment and wrath befall you from your Lord! Are you arguing with me about simple names that you and your forefathers have made up, and for which Allah has sent no authority? Wait for Allah’s decree, and I shall wait with you.
He said: "A tainting and wrath shall befall you from your Lord. Do you argue with me over names which you and your fathers have created with no authority being sent down by God? Wait then, and I will wait with you."
He said, "Disgrace and wrath from your Lord have indeed befallen you. Do you argue with me about names which you and your fathers have given, and for which Allah has not sent any authority? Then wait! I am with you, among those who wait."
Controversial, deprecated, or status undetermined works
He replied: "You have thus condemned yourselves and earned the Lord's disenchantment. How can you engage in an argument about the oneness of God with me? What are these baseless names that you and your forefathers have invented [god of rain, god of the winds, god of this and god of that]? Let us wait and see the result [of your disobedient.]

He said, "Indeed the punishment and the wrath of your Lord have fallen upon you; what! You needlessly dispute with me regarding the names you and your ancestors have fabricated? Allah has not sent down any proof concerning them; therefore wait - I too await with you."

He replied, `Indeed there have already fallen on you punishment and wrath from your Lord. Do you dispute with me about names which you have named - you and your fathers - for which ALLAH has sent down no authority? Wait then, I am with you among those who wait.
He said, "You have incurred condemnation and wrath from your Lord. Do you argue with me in defense of innovations you have fabricated - you and your parents - which were never authorized by GOD? Therefore, wait and I will wait along with you."

He said, 'surely there have befallen you the torment and wrath of Lord. Are you disputing with me only about those names which you and your fathers have named for which Allah has sent down no authority? Wait then; I also wait with you.
He said, `There has already fallen upon you the punishment and the displeasure from your Lord. Would you dispute with me regarding mere names (of your false gods) which you have coined, you and your fathers, names in support of which Allah has sent down no authority? (If so) then wait (for the consequences), I too, am with you, among those who wait.
He said: ‘Certainly, the torment and wrath upon you from your Lord has become inevitable. Do you dispute with me over the names (of those idols) which you (yourselves) and your ancestors have (supposedly) named and for which Allah has not sent down any authority? So wait (for the torment); I am (also) with you amongst those who wait.
(Hood) said: "Torment and wrath have already fallen on you from your Lord. Dispute you with me over names which you have named - you and your fathers, with no authority from Allah? Then wait, I am with you among those who wait."
Said he, 'Anger and wrath from your Lord have fallen upon you. What, do you dispute with me regarding names you have named, you and your fathers, touching which God has sent down never authority? Then watch and wait; I shall be with you watching and waiting.
He said, 'There shall fall upon you from your Lord horror and wrath; do ye wrangle with me about names, which ye and your fathers have named yourselves, for which God sent down no power; wait then expectant, and I with you will wait expectant too
Hud answered, now shall there suddenly fall upon you from your Lord vengeance and indignation. Will ye dispute with me concerning the names which ye have named, and your fathers; as to which God hath not revealed unto you any authority? Do ye wait therefore, and I will be one of those who wait with you
He said, "Vengeance and wrath shall suddenly light on you from your Lord. Do ye dispute with me about names that you and your fathers have given your idols, and for which God hath sent you down no warranty? Wait ye then, and I too will wait with you."
He said: ‘Your Lord‘s punishment and ire have already been decreed to visit you. Would you dispute with me about names which you and your fathers named, and for which God has revealed no sanction? Wait if you will; I will wait with you.&lsquo

Then wait; indeed, I am with you among those who wait.”

He (Hud) said: There have already fallen you punishment and wrath from your Lord. Do you dispute with me about names which you and your fathers have named (your idols) , for which Allah has not sent any authority ? Wait then, and verily I, also with you, will be of those who wait

"Now", said Hud, " you have confirmed yourselves in prepensed malice and the prophesy of Allah's punishment and indignation against you is thus ratified". "Do you contend against Allah in favour of your named idols you and your fathers designated as gods, objects Allah never authorized! " "You Just await the justice prepared above in heaven's realm; I will await it also"
He said, "Uncleanliness and anger from your Fosterer have already fallen on you. What ! do you dispute with me about names which you have named, you and your forefathers, for which Allah has not sent down any authority, then wait, I (too), with you, will be one of those who wait."
