| Arabic | | وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا غَنِمْتُم مِّن شَيْءٍ فَأَنَّ لِلَّهِ خُمُسَهُ وَلِلرَّسُولِ وَلِذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَالْيَتَامَىٰ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ وَابْنِ السَّبِيلِ إِن كُنتُمْ آمَنتُم بِاللَّهِ وَمَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَىٰ عَبْدِنَا يَوْمَ الْفُرْقَانِ يَوْمَ الْتَقَى الْجَمْعَانِ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِير |  |

| And know | | wa-iʿ'lamū | | وَاعْلَمُوا | | ع ل م | |
| that what | | annamā | | أَنَّمَا | | ا ن ن م ا | |
| you obtain (as) spoils of war | | ghanim'tum | | غَنِمْتُمْ | | غ ن م | |
| anything, | | shayin | | شَيْءٍ | | ش ى ء | |
| then that, | | fa-anna | | فَأَنَّ | | ا ن ن | |
| for Allah | | lillahi | | لِلَّهِ | | ا ل ه | |
| (is) one fifth of it | | khumusahu | | خُمُسَهُ | | خ م س | |
| and for the Messenger | | walilrrasūli | | وَلِلرَّسُولِ | | ر س ل | |
| and for the | | walidhī | | وَلِذِي | | ذ و | |
| near relatives, | | l-qur'bā | | الْقُرْبَى | | ق ر ب | |
| and the orphans | | wal-yatāmā | | وَالْيَتَامَى | | ى ت م | |
| and the needy | | wal-masākīni | | وَالْمَسَاكِينِ | | س ك ن | |
| and the | | wa-ib'ni | | وَابْنِ | | ب ن و | |
| wayfarer, | | l-sabīli | | السَّبِيلِ | | س ب ل | |
| believe | | āmantum | | ءَامَنْتُمْ | | ا م ن | |
| in Allah, | | bil-lahi | | بِاللَّهِ | | ا ل ه | |
| and (in) what | | wamā | | وَمَا | | م ا | |
| We sent down | | anzalnā | | أَنْزَلْنَا | | ن ز ل | |
| Our slave | | ʿabdinā | | عَبْدِنَا | | ع ب د | |
| (on the) day | | yawma | | يَوْمَ | | ى و م | |
| (of) the criterion, | | l-fur'qāni | | الْفُرْقَانِ | | ف ر ق | |
| (the) day | | yawma | | يَوْمَ | | ى و م | |
| (when) met | | l-taqā | | الْتَقَى | | ل ق ى | |
| the two forces. | | l-jamʿāni | | الْجَمْعَانِ | | ج م ع | |
| And Allah | | wal-lahu | | وَاللَّهُ | | ا ل ه | |
| All-Powerful. | | qadīrun | | قَدِيرٌ | | ق د ر | |
