15:1
Alif. Lam. Ra! These are the Verses of the Book, and the indisputable Qur’ān
15:2
(On the Day of Resurrection) those who persistently refuse to Yield to the Truth will ardently wish they had submitted (to Allâh in their life time).
15:3
Let them eat and enjoy themselves, and be engrossed in (false) hope. Soon they will come to know (the truth which they denied)!
15:4
And never did We destroy a town but there was a known decree for it.
15:5
No people can precede their doom, neither can they postpone it.
15:6
And they say: ‘O' you to whom the Book of Enlightenment has been revealed! you are most surely insane:
15:7
Why do you not bring the Angels to us if you are of the truthful?’
15:8
We don’t send down Angels except for a genuine reason, and then they will not be reprieved.
15:9
It is We Who have revealed the Book of Enlightenment and surely it is incumbent on us to guard it (against falsehood).
15:10
Verily, We sent Messengers before you, among the sects of yore.
15:11
And never did a Messenger come to them but that they mocked at him.
15:12
This is how We let (the habit of mocking) flourish in the hearts of the Ungodly Sinners.
15:13
They don’t have Faith in the Qur'ân though the example of the ancients has gone before.
15:14
Even if we were to open for them a gateway to the sky and they were to continue ascending through it,
15:15
They would surely say:“’Our eyes have been deprived of sight. Nay, but we have been bewitched’.
15:16
Verily, We have placed constellations in the sky and adorned it (with magnificent shining stars) for all to see.
15:17
And We protected it from every outcast devil,
15:18
Except for the one secretly listening, who is then pursued by a fiery meteor.
15:19
As for the earth, We spread it out, placed therein firm hills and caused to grow therein all kinds of things in perfect balance.
15:20
We have made for you therein means of livelihood and for those (animals, birds, fish, etc.) whom you don't provide.
15:21
There is not a thing, but with Us are the treasures of it. And We don’t send it down except in a known measure.
15:22
And We send the winds fertilizing, and cause water to descend from the sky for you to drink, and you are not owners of its stores.
15:23
Indeed, it is We Who give life and cause death. And We are the Inheritors.
15:24
Indeed, We have complete knowledge of those who have gone before you and those who will come after you.
15:25
Verily, your Lord will gather them together. And He is truly All-Wise, All-Knowing.
15:26
Verily, We created man from sounding clay of altered black mud.
15:27
As for the jinn, we created them aforetime from smokeless fire.
15:28
And (recall) when your Lord said unto the Angels: "I am going to create a man from sounding clay of altered black mud.
15:29
So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall (ye) down prostrating yourselves to him."
15:30
So, the Angels prostrated themselves, all of them together
15:31
Except Iblīs. He refused to be of those who prostrated themselves.
15:32
(Allâh) said: ‘O’ Iblīs, what is the reason that prevented you form joining others in prostration?’
15:33
Iblīs said: ‘It would not be possible for me to prostrate myself to a mortal, whom You created from sounding clay of altered black mud’.
15:34
(Allâh) said: ‘Then get out from here! Surely you are expelled!
15:35
Verily, the curse will abide in you till the Day of Judgment.’
15:36
Iblīs said: ‘My Lord, then reprieve me till the day when they are raised’.
15:37
(Allâh) said: ‘Surely, you are among those who are reprieved
15:38
Till the day of the appointed time’.
15:39
Iblīs said: ‘My Lord, as You have allowed me to be tempted, I shall indeed adorn (the path of error) for them, and tempt everyone of them
15:40
Except for your faithful servants among them’.
15:41
(Allâh) said: ‘This is the path which leads straight to Me.
15:42
Verily, You have no power to enforce obedience over My servants except those who fall into temptation and follow you.
15:43
Indeed, Gehenna is the promised place for them all’.
15:44
It has seven gates: each gate is designated for a specific group of people.
15:45
Indeed, the Pious will be in gardens and springs.
15:46
(They will be told): ‘Enter it in peace and security’.
15:47
We shall remove from their hearts any sense of resentment, (so they will be like) brothers facing each other on raised couches.
15:48
No lassitude will ever touch them therein, neither will they be expelled from it.
15:49
Inform My servants that I am truly the Oft-Forgiving, the Most-Merciful,
15:50
That My torment is indeed the most sever one.
15:51
Tell them about the guests of Abraham
15:52
When they entered upon him, saying: ‘Peace’. He said: ‘Indeed, We are afraid of you’.
15:53
The Angels said: ‘Do not be afraid! For behold, We announce to you the glad tidings of a boy endowed with wisdom’.
15:54
He said: ‘Do you give me the glad tidings (of a boy) when old age has touched me? Of what then do you give me glad tidings?
15:55
They said: ‘We announce to you the glad tidings in truth. Thus don't be of those who despair’.
15:56
He said: ‘None despairs of the Mercy of his Lord except those who fall far way from the Faith?’
15:57
He said: ‘What then is your mission, O’ Messengers?’
15:58
They said: ‘We have been sent to a folk of Ungodly Sinners’.
15:59
As for the family of Lot. We will definitely save them all,
15:60
Except for his wife. We decreed that she should be of those who remain behind.
15:61
So when the Messengers came to the family of Lot,
15:62
He said: ‘Surely you are strangers here’.
15:63
They said: ‘Nay, but we have come to you with (the news of) that (torment) which they have been doubting.
15:64
We have come to you with the truth, and we are indeed truthful.
15:65
So go forth with your family in a part of the night, and you follow them in the rear, and let none among you look back. But keep going to where you are commanded’.
15:66
We decreed for him that commandment, that the root of those (Ungodly sinners) shall be uprooted by early morning.
15:67
The people of the city came rejoicing.
15:68
‘Lot said: ‘Indeed, these are my guests, thus, don’t disgrace me
15:69
And act piously towards Allâh and don’t humiliate me’.
15:70
They said: ‘Did we not forbid you to entertain anyone?’
15:71
‘Lot said: ‘These are my daughters if you intend to do’.
15:72
Verily, by your life, (O’ Muhammad), they were definitely in their state of inebriation, wandering blindly.
15:73
So the (dreadful) cry seized them at sunrise.
15:74
We turned (the city) and poured down upon them stones of baked clay.
15:75
Surely in this there are Signs (of Allâh’s power & glory) for those who discern.
15:76
Verily, (the ruin of that city) is on a road that still exists.
15:77
Surely in this there is a Sign for those who live by Faith.
15:78
The Companions of the Thicket were indeed iniquitous people
15:79
So We inflicted retribution on them. Both towns are on an open highway.
15:80
Indeed, the Companions (of) the Rocky Tract-(the tribe of Thamūd)- denied Our Messengers.
15:81
We brought them Our Signs but they persist in turning away from them in a repulsive manner.
15:82
They used to grave houses out of the mountains, therein dwelling safely;
15:83
So the (dreadful) cry seized them at sunrise in the early morning.
15:84
So nothing availed them from what they used to gain.
15:85
We didn’t created the heavens, the earth and all that is between them (for naught) but with genuine reason. The Hour is definitely coming. Now, therefore, forgive with gracious forgiveness.
15:86
Your Lord is most assuredly the All-knowing Creator.
15:87
Indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of the oft-repeated (Verses) and the Glorious Qur'ân.
15:88
Don’t extend your eyes toward what We have bestowed upon certain classes of them, neither do you grieve over them. Lower your wing to those who live by Faith
15:89
And say: ‘I am truly sent (by my Lord) to warn (of the severe torment of Hellfire)’.
15:90
Like as We sent down on the dividers,
15:91
Who have made the Qur'ân into segments.
15:92
So, by Your Lord, We will definitely question them all
15:93
About what they used to do.
15:94
Now, therefore, proclaim what you are commanded and walk away from the Polytheists.
15:95
We will definitely suffice you against the scoffers,
15:96
Who set up along with Allâh another god. Soon they will come to know (the truth which they denied)!
15:97
We certainly know that your heart is seriously affected by what they say.
15:98
Now, therefore, glorify the praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him).
15:99
And worship your Lord (in the way He wants you to worship Him) until there comes to you the certainty (- death)!.
