76:1  Has there not come upon man a period from the span of time when he was not even a mentionable thing?

76:2  WE did create man from a drop, embedded with traits, to test him. To that purpose, WE have made him with hearing and sight.

76:3  Indeed, WE have shown him the Path— whether he be grateful or ungrateful.

76:4  Hearken! WE have prepared fetters and yokes and a blaze for the ungrateful.

76:5  Indeed, the virtuous will drink from a cup— its blend of Kafur—

76:6  A spring by which drink Allah’s devotees. They spur it to gush with profusion.

76:7  They are true to their vows, and they fear a day whose horror is sweeping.

76:8  And they feed the needy, and the orphan, and the prisoner, their food, for the love of HIM.

76:9  [Reminding themselves]: “We feed you only for the Face of Allah. We do not seek any return from you nor any gratitude.

76:10  We do fear from our Rabb, a grim records-bearing day.”

76:11  So, Allah spared them the horror of that Day and brought them to radiance and joy.

76:12  And HE recompensed them because they persevered— a garden and silk:

76:13  Reclining on couches, they see therein neither a scorching sun nor an icy wind.

76:14  And drooping over them, the garden’s shades and its clusters of fruit hung low, for its taking.

76:15  And passed around between them are jugs of silver. And the goblets be crystals—

76:16  Crystals of silver. They have assigned them a capacity, precisely matched.

76:17  And they will be given to drink therein a cup— its blend of Zanjabīl—

76:18  and a flowing spring therein, named Salsabīl.

76:19  And making rounds [waiting] upon them, eternalized youths. When you see them, you would deem them scattered pearls

76:20  And when [and where] you look, ever-then and ever-there you will see bliss and a transcendent kingdom.

76:21  Their donning— garments of green fine silk and ornate brocade. And adorned by bracelets of silver, and their Rabb slaked them with an immaculate drink:

76:22  “This here is a reward for you all, and ever was your effort appreciated.”

76:23  It is US— WE sent down upon you the Quran, in gradual revelations.

76:24  So, wait patiently for your Rabb’s decision and do not obey any sinner or disbeliever from among them

76:25  And remember the name of your Rabb, [each] day’s start, and the day’s end,

76:26  and during part of the night— prostrate unto HIM. And contemplate HIS limitless glory at night, amply.

76:27  Surely, these people, they love the immediate and temporal and put behind them [any thought of] a momentous day.

76:28  It WE Who created them and strengthened their bodily frames, and when WE will, WE change their forms in a transformative change.

76:29  Hearken! This is a reminder— so whoever wills may take a path unto HIS Rabb.

76:30  And you do not will except that Allah wills. Indeed, Allah is ever knowing, all-wise.

76:31  HE admits whoever HE wills into HIS mercy. And [as for] the wrongdoers— for them HE has proportioned an agonizing punishment.
