Read [O, Muhammad] in the name of your Lord, the one who created,
Created the human from a clinging clot.
Read! and your Lord is the most Generous,
The one who taught by the pen
Taught the human what he knew not.
No such be there [without divine knowledge, a human]. Indeed, the human would surely turn into taghut
If he considered himself self-sufficient.
Indeed, to your Lord is the return [of all].
Have you seen [O Muhammad] the one who prohibits
A slave when he prays?
Have you seen if he was, upon the guidance
Or he enjoyed all about the righteousness?
Have you seen if he belied and turned away
Does he not know that Allah sees?
No such should be there [like him]. If he does not stop, We will surely grab him by the forelock
A lying, sinning forelock.
So let him call upon his associates;
We will call the angels of Hell.
No such is there [his `associates']. Do not obey him [O Muhammad]. And prostrate and [thereby] be welcoming.
