General Root Meaning
a verb with the addition of hamza and doubled in perfect. To betake oneself for shelter, refuge or rest, have recourse to retire, alight at, give hospitality to.
  
āwaw   (1)

8:72
Indeed, those who believed and emigrated and strove hard with their wealth and their lives in (the) way (of) Allah and those who gave shelter and helped those - some of them (are) allies (of) another. But those who believed and (did) not emigrate, (it is) not for you from their protection (in) anything, until they emigrate. And if they seek your help in the religion, then upon you (is to) help them except against a people between you and between them (is) a treaty. And Allah of what you do (is) All-Seer.

8:74
And those who believed and emigrated and strove hard in (the) way (of) Allah and those who gave shelter and helped, those - they (are) the believers (in) truth. For them (is) forgiveness and a provision noble.

3:197
An enjoyment little, then their abode (is) hell - [and] a wretched [the] resting place.

4:121
Those - their abode (is) Hell and not they will find from it any escape.

17:97
And whoever guides Allah then he (is) the guided one; and whoever He lets go astray - then never you will find for them protectors from besides Him. And We will gather them (on) the Day (of) the Resurrection on their faces - blind and dumb and deaf. Their abode (is) Hell; every time it subsides, We (will) increase (for) them the blazing fire.

You may defer whom you will of them or you may take to yourself whom you will. And whoever you desire of those whom you (had) set aside - then (there is) no blame upon you. That (is) more suitable that may be cooled their eyes and not they grieve and they maybe pleased with what you have given them - all of them. And Allah knows what (is) in your hearts. And is Allah All-Knower, Most Forbearing.

And he said, "Only you have taken from besides Allah idols (out of) love among you in the life (of) the world. Then (on the) Day (of) the Resurrection you will deny some of you (to) one another and curse some of you (to) one another, and your abode (will be) the Fire and not for you any helpers."

45:34
And it will be said, "Today We forget you as you forgot (the) meeting Day of yours (of) this and your abode (is) the Fire, and not for you any helpers.

So is (the one) who pursues (the) pleasure (of) Allah like (the one) who draws on (himself) wrath of Allah and his abode (is) hell, and wretched (is) the destination?

5:72
Certainly disbelieved those who say, "Indeed Allah - He (is) the Messiah, son (of) Maryam." While said the Messiah, "O Children (of) Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates partners with Allah, then surely (has) forbidden Allah for him Paradise and his abode (will be) the Fire. And not for the wrongdoers any helpers.

8:16
And whoever turns to them that day his back except (as) a strategy of war or (to) join to a group, certainly (he has) incurred wrath of Allah and his abode (is) Hell, a wretched destination.

24:57
(Do) not think those who disbelieve (can) escape in the earth. And their abode (will be) the Fire and wretched is the destination.

3:151
We will cast in (the) hearts (of) those who disbelieve [the] terror because they associated partners with Allah, what not He sent down about it any authority, and their refuge (will be) the Fire and wretched (is the) abode [of] the wrongdoers.

O Prophet! Strive (against) the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be stern with them. And their abode (is) Hell, and wretched (is) the destination.

9:95
They will swear by Allah to you when you returned to them, that you may turn away from them. So turn away from them, indeed, they (are) impure and their abode (is) Hell, a recompense for what they used (to) earn.

13:18
For those who responded to their Lord (is) the bliss. And for those who (did) not respond to Him, if that they had whatever (is) in the earth all and like of it with it, surely they would offer ransom with it. Those for them (is) a terrible reckoning, and their abode (is) Hell, and wretched (is) the resting place.

66:9
O Prophet! Strive (against) the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them. And their abode (is) Hell, and wretched is the destination.
