General Root Meaning
To break into small pieces, crush, crumble, smash, to be broken with age (meaning aged and weak and emaciated), break into pieces so as to disclose a thing, crumble by reason of excessive dryness, to crowd or press together or upon one another, crowd or press together on a thing, be inflamed with wrath or rage.

39:21
Do not you see that Allah sends down from the sky water and He makes it flow (as) springs in the earth; then He produces with it crops (of) different colors; then they wither and you see it turn yellow; then He makes them debris? Indeed, in that surely, (is) a reminder for those of understanding.

56:65
If We willed We (would) surely, make it debris, then you would remain wondering,

57:20
Know that the life (of) the world (is) play and amusement and adornment and boasting among you and competition in increase of the wealth and the children, like (the) example (of) a rain, pleases the tillers its growth; then it dries and you see it turning yellow; then becomes debris. And in the Hereafter (is) a punishment severe and forgiveness from Allah and Pleasure. But not (is) the life (of) the world except (the) enjoyment (of) delusion.

27:18
Until, when they came to (the) valley (of) the ants, said an ant, "O ants! Enter your dwellings not lest crush you Sulaiman and his hosts while they not perceive."
