General Root Meaning
To make a niche or receptacle for a corps, a trench.
Deviate/swerve from, stray from the right path, act unfairly, to blaspheme/dispute, make covert hints, to use profanity, to pervert/distort/violate/decry.
Lodging/refuge/concealment/protection.
  
bi-il'ḥādin   (1)

22:25
Indeed, those who disbelieved and hinder from (the) way (of) Allah and Al-Masjid Al-Haraam, which We made it for the mankind, equal, (are) the resident therein and the visitor; and whoever intends therein of deviation (or) wrongdoing, We will make him taste of a punishment painful.

18:27
And recite what has been revealed to you of the Book (of) your Lord. None can change His Words and never you will find from besides Him a refuge.

72:22
Say, "Indeed I, never can protect me from Allah anyone, and never can I find from besides Him any refuge.

And for Allah (are) the names - the most beautiful, so invoke Him by them. And leave those who deviate concerning His names. They will be recompensed for what they used to do.

And certainly We know that they say, "Only teaches him a human being." (The) tongue (of) the one they refer to him (is) foreign while this (is) a language Arabic clear.
