Zay-Ra-Ayn
General Root Meaning
To sow seed, cast seed, till the ground, cause [the plants, children] to grow, give increase to, he who sows, reaps, what is raised by means of sowing, seed-produce, what is sown. (Zay Ra Waw 'Ayn = offspring, children, a child)
Tazra'uuna (imp. 2nd. p.m. plu): You shall sow, cultivate
Zar'un (n.): Cornfield
Zuruu'un (n. plu.): Cornfields
Zurraa'un (n. plu): Sowers.
Zaari'uuna (act. pic. m. plu.): Growers; Causers of the growth.

Is it you (who) cause it to grow or (are) We the Ones Who grow?

   l-zurāʿa   (1)

48:29
Muhammad (is the) Messenger (of) Allah. and those who (are) with him (are) firm against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating, seeking Bounty from Allah and pleasure. Their mark (is) on their faces from (the) trace (of) the prostration. That (is) their similitude in the Taurat And their similitude in the Injeel (is) like a seed (which) sends forth its shoot then strengthens it, then it becomes thick and it stands upon its stem delighting the sowers that He (may) enrage by them the disbelievers. has promised Allah those who believe and do righteous deeds among them, forgiveness and a reward great.

He causes to grow for you with it, the crops and the olives and the date-palms and the grapes and of every kind (of) fruits. Indeed, in that surely (is) a sign for a people who reflect.

He said, "You will sow (for) seven years, as usual, and that which you reap so leave it in its ears except a little from which you (will) eat.

Our Lord! Indeed, I [I] have settled (some) of my offsprings in a valley not with cultivation near Your House, Sacred. our Lord! That they may establish the prayers. So make hearts of the men incline towards them, and provide them with the fruits so that they may be grateful.

And set forth to them the example of two men: We provided for one of them two gardens of grapes, and We bordered them with date-palms, and We placed between both of them crops.

Do not they see that We drive water to the land [the] barren, then We bring forth thereby crops, eat from it their cattle and they themselves? Then do not they see?

39:21
Do not you see that Allah sends down from the sky water and He makes it flow (as) springs in the earth; then He produces with it crops (of) different colors; then they wither and you see it turn yellow; then He makes them debris? Indeed, in that surely, (is) a reminder for those of understanding.

   wal-zarʿa   (1)

6:141
And He (is) the One Who produced gardens trellised and other than trellised and the date-palm and the crops, diverse (are) its taste, and the olives and the pomegranates similar and other than similar. Eat of its fruit when it bears fruit, and give its due (on the) day (of) its harvest. And (do) not (be) extravagant. Indeed, He (does) not love the ones who are extravagant.

13:4
And in the earth are tracks neighboring, and gardens of grapevines and crops and date-palms trees (growing) from a single and not trees (growing) from a single watered with water one; but We cause to exceed some of them over others in the fruit. Indeed, in that surely (are) Signs for a people who use reason.
