Zay-Ya-Nun
General Root Meaning
To adorn, deck. Adorn, grace, honor [said of an action, quality, or saying]. Embellished, dressed, or trimmed it [relating to language]. Adorned [ex. The earth, or land, became adorned with or by it's herbage], ornamented, decorated, decked, bedecked, garnished, embellished, beautified, or graced him/it. Of language it is said: ""It was embellished, dressed up, or trimmed"". Of action it is said: ""It was embellished, dressed up""; i.e. commended to a person by another man. A grace, a beauty, a comely quality, a physical/intellectual adornment, an honour or a credit, and anything that is the pride or glory of a person or a thing. A thing that does not disgrace or render unseemly a wise man in any of his states or conditions, either in the present world or in that which is to come. It [states] are of three kinds: Mental: Such as knowledge/science and good tenants. Bodily: Strength, tallness of stature, beauty of aspect. Extrinsic: Wealth, rank or station, dignity.
Zayyana (prf. 3rd. p.m. sing. II.): He made to seem fair
Zayyannaa (prf. 1st p. plu. II.): We made someone seem fair, adorned
Uzayyinanna (imp. 1st p. sing.): I will surely make fair-seeming
Zuyyina (pp. 3rd p.m. sing. II.): He is made to seem fair
Izzayyanat (prf. 3rd p.f. sing. V.): She became adorned, received excellent adornment, ornature. It is from Tazayyanat. V.

20:59
He said, "Your appointment (is on the) day (of) the festival, and that will be assembled the people (at) forenoon."

24:60
And postmenopausal among the women who (do) not have desire (for) marriage, then not is on them any blame that they put aside their (outer) garments, not displaying their adornment. And that they modestly refrain (is) better for them. And Allah (is) All-Hearer, All-Knower.

37:6
Indeed, We [We] adorned the sky [the world] with an adornment (of) the stars.

Indeed, We We have made what (is) on the earth adornment for it, that We may test [them] which of them (is) best (in) deed.

10:88
And said Musa, "Our Lord! Indeed, You have given Firaun and his chiefs splendor and wealth in the life (of) the world. Our Lord! That they may lead astray from Your way. Our Lord! Destroy [on] their wealth and harden [on] their hearts, so (that) not they believe until they see the punishment - the painful."

Say, "Who has forbidden (the) adornment (from) Allah which He has brought forth for His slaves, and the pure things of sustenance?" Say, "They (are) for those who believe during the life (of) the world, exclusively (for them) (on the) Day (of) Resurrection. Thus We explain the Signs for (the) people who know."

18:28
And be patient, yourself, with those who call their Lord in the morning and the evening desiring His Face. And (let) not pass beyond your eyes over them, desiring adornment (of) the life (of) the world, and (do) not obey whom We have made heedless his heart of Our remembrance, and follows his desires and is his affair (in) excess.

The wealth and children (are) adornment (of) the life (of) the world. But the enduring good deeds (are) better near your Lord (for) reward and better (for) hope.

They said, "Not we broke promise to you by our will, but we [we] were made to carry burdens from ornaments (of) the people, so we threw them and thus threw the Samiri."

O Children (of) Adam! Take your adornment at every masjid, and eat and drink but (do) not be extravagant. Indeed, He (does) not love the extravagant ones.

So he went forth to his people in his adornment. Said those who desire the life (of) the world, "O! Would that for us (the) like (of) what has been given (to) Qarun. Indeed, he (is the) owner (of) fortune great."

And let them draw their head covers over their bosoms, and not (to) display their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers or fathers (of) their husbands or their sons or sons (of) their husbands or their brothers or sons (of) their brothers or sons (of) their sisters, or their women or what possess their right hands or the attendants having no (of) physical desire among [the] men or [the] children who (are) not aware of private aspects (of) the women. And not let them stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah altogether O believers! So that you may succeed.

24:31

8:48
And when made fair-seeming to them the Shaitaan their deeds and he said, "No (one) (can) overcome [to] you today from the people and indeed, I am a neighbor for you." But when came in sight the two forces he turned away on his heels and said, "Indeed, I am free of you. Indeed, I see what not (do) you see, indeed, I [I] fear Allah. And Allah (is) severe (in) the penalty."

6:137
And likewise made pleasing to many of the polytheists - (the) killing (of) their children - their partners - so that they may ruin them and that they make confusing to them their religion. And if (had) willed Allah not they (would) have done so. So leave them and what they invent.

13:33
Is then He Who (is) a Maintainer of every soul for what it has earned? Yet they ascribe to Allah partners. Say, "Name them. Or (do) you inform Him of what not He knows in the earth or of the apparent of the words?" Nay, (is) made fair-seeming to those who disbelieve their plotting, and they are hindered from the Path. And whoever lets go astray Allah then not for him any guide.

10:12
And when touches the man the affliction he calls Us, (lying) on his side or sitting or standing. But when We remove from him his affliction he passes on as if he (had) not called Us for (the) affliction (that) touched him. Thus (it) is made fair seeming to the extravagant what they used (to) do.

2:212
Beautified for those who disbelieve[d] (is) the life (of) the world, and they ridicule [of] those who believe[d]. And those who fear (Allah), (they will be) above them (on the) Day (of) Resurrection. And Allah provides whom He wills without measure.

3:14
Beautified for mankind (is) love (of) the (things they) desire of [the] women and [the] sons and [the] heaps [the] stored up of [the] gold and [the] silver, and [the] horses [the] branded, and [the] cattle and [the] tilled land. That (is) provision (of) life (of) the world but Allah - with Him (is an) excellent [the] abode to return.

47:14
Then is (he) who is on a clear proof from his Lord like (he) who, is made attractive to him (the) evil (of) his deeds while they follow their desires.

6:122
Is (one) who was dead and We gave him life and We made for him light, he walks whereby among the people, like (one) who [similar to him] (is) in the darknesses, not he comes out of it? Thus is made fair-seeming to the disbelievers what they were doing.

9:37
Indeed, the postponing (is) an increase in the disbelief, are led astray by it those who disbelieve. They make it lawful one year and make it unlawful (another) year, to adjust the number which has made unlawful Allah and making lawful what has made unlawful Allah Is made fair-seeming to them (the) evil (of) their deeds. And Allah (does) not guide the people - the disbelievers.

35:8
Then is (he) who - is made fair-seeming to him (the) evil (of) his deed - so that he sees it (as) good? For indeed, Allah lets go astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. So (let) not go out your soul for them (in) regrets. Indeed, Allah (is) All-Knower of what they do.

40:37
(The) ways (to) the heavens so I may look at (the) God (of) Musa; and indeed, I [I] surely think him (to be) a liar." And thus was made fair-seeming to Firaun (the) evil (of) his deed, and he was averted from the way. And not (was the) plot (of) Firaun except in ruin.

Indeed, We [We] adorned the sky [the world] with an adornment (of) the stars.

67:5
And certainly We have beautified the heaven nearest with lamps, and We have made them (as) missiles for the devils, and We have prepared for them punishment (of) the Blaze.

6:108
And (do) not insult those whom they invoke from other than Allah, lest they insult Allah (in) enmity without knowledge. Thus We have made fair-seeming to every community their deed. Then to their Lord (is) their return, then He will inform them about what they used to do.

27:4
Indeed, those who (do) not believe in the Hereafter, We have made fair-seeming to them their deeds, so they wander blindly.

By Allah, certainly We have sent to nations from before you but made fair-seeming to them the Shaitaan their deeds. So he (is) their ally today, and for them (is) a punishment painful.

And We have destined for them companions (who) made fair-seeming to them, what between (their) hands (before them) and what (was) behind them, and (is) justified against them the Word among nations (that have) indeed passed away from before them of the jinn and the men. Indeed, they were losers.

He said, "My Lord! Because You misled me, surely, I will make (evil) fai to them in the earth and I will mislead them all

10:24
Only (the) example (of) the life (of) the world (is) like (the) water which We sent down from the sky, so absorbs [with] it, (the) plants (of) the earth from which eat the men and the cattle, until when takes the earth its adornment and is beautified and think its people that they have the power over it, comes (to) it Our command (by) night or (by) day, and We make it a harvest clean-mown, as if not it had flourished yesterday. Thus We explain the Signs for a people who reflect.

And horses and mules and donkeys for you to ride them and (as) adornment. And He creates what not you know.

Know that the life (of) the world (is) play and amusement and adornment and boasting among you and competition in increase of the wealth and the children, like (the) example (of) a rain, pleases the tillers its growth; then it dries and you see it turning yellow; then becomes debris. And in the Hereafter (is) a punishment severe and forgiveness from Allah and Pleasure. But not (is) the life (of) the world except (the) enjoyment (of) delusion.

O Prophet! Say to your wives, "If you desire the life (of) the world and its adornment, then come, I will provide for you and release you (with) a release good.

11:15
Whoever [is] desires the life (of) the world and its adornments, We will repay in full to them (for) their deeds therein, and they in it not will be lessened.

And whatever you have been given from things, (is) an enjoyment (of the) life (of) the world and its adornment. And what (is) with Allah, (is) better and more lasting. So (will) not you use intellect?

And I found her and her people prostrating to the sun from instead (of) Allah, and has made fair-seeming to them the Shaitaan their deeds, and averted them from the Way, so they (are) not guided,

Then why not when came to them Our punishment, they humbled themselves? But became hardened their hearts and made fair-seeming to them the Shaitaan what they used to do.

29:38
And Aad and Thamud, and verily, (has) become clear to you from their dwellings. And made fair-seeming to them the Shaitaan their deeds and averted them from the Way, though they were endowed with insight.

Then He completed them (as) seven heavens in two periods and He revealed in each heaven its affair. And We adorned the heaven, [the world] with lamps and (to) guard. That (is the) Decree (of) the All-Mighty, the All-Knower.

Then do not they look at the sky above them - how We structured it and adorned it and not for it any rifts?

15:16
And verily We have placed in the heavens constellations and We have beautified it for the observers.

And know that among you (is the) Messenger (of) Allah. If he were to obey you in much of the matter, surely you would be in difficu but Allah has endeared to you the Faith and has made it pleasing in your hearts and has made hateful to you disbelief and defiance and disobedience. Those (are) they - the guided ones.
