Surah “Explained in Detail, Revelations Well Expounded”

as rendered by Talal Itani & AI (2025) — 54 verses

Ha Mim.
A revelation from the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.
A Book whose verses have been made clear, a Quran in Arabic for people who understand.
Bringing good news and warning. Yet most of them turn away, so they do not hear.
They say, "Our hearts are wrapped up against what you call us to, there is deafness in our ears, and between us and you is a barrier. So do what you will; we are doing what we will."
Say, "I am only a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your God is One God, so take the straight path to Him and seek His forgiveness." Woe to those who associate partners with God.
Those who do not give charity and who deny the Hereafter.
Those who believe and do righteous deeds will have a reward that never ends.
Say, "Do you really deny the One who created the earth in two days, and set up rivals to Him? That is the Lord of all worlds."
He placed firm mountains on it, rising above it, blessed it, and measured out its sustenance in four days, equal for all who ask.
Then He turned to the sky while it was smoke and said to it and to the earth, "Come, willingly or unwillingly." They said, "We come willingly."
He formed them into seven heavens in two days and assigned to each heaven its command. We adorned the lowest heaven with lamps and protection. That is the determination of the Almighty, the All-Knowing.
If they turn away, say, "I warn you of a thunderbolt like the thunderbolt that struck Aad and Thamud."
When messengers came to them from before them and behind them, saying, "Worship none but God," they said, "If our Lord had willed, He would have sent down angels. So we reject what you have been sent with."
As for Aad, they grew arrogant in the land without right and said, "Who is mightier than us in strength?" Did they not see that God who created them is mightier than them in strength? They kept rejecting Our signs.
So We sent upon them a screaming wind during days of disaster, to make them taste the punishment of disgrace in this worldly life. But the punishment of the Hereafter is more disgraceful, and they will not be helped.
As for Thamud, We guided them, but they preferred blindness over guidance. So the thunderbolt of humiliating punishment seized them for what they had committed.
We saved those who believed and were mindful of God.
On the Day when the enemies of God are gathered toward the Fire, they will be driven in ranks.
When they reach it, their hearing, their sight, and their skin will testify against them about what they used to do.
They will say to their skin, "Why did you testify against us?" It will reply, "God made us speak, He who makes everything speak. He created you the first time, and to Him you are returned."
You could not hide yourselves from your own hearing, sight, and skin testifying against you. You assumed that God did not know much of what you were doing.
That assumption you held about your Lord has ruined you, and you have become among the losers.
Whether they endure patiently, the Fire is their home. If they seek to make amends, they will not be allowed to.
We assigned to them companions who made attractive to them what was before them and what was behind them. The decree proved true against them, along with nations of jinn and humans who passed before them. They were losers.
Those who disbelieve say, "Do not listen to this Quran and drown it out with noise so that you may prevail."
We will make those who disbelieve taste a severe punishment, and We will repay them for the worst of what they used to do.
That is the reward of God's enemies: the Fire. In it they will have an eternal home as payment for rejecting Our revelations.
Those who disbelieve will say, "Our Lord, show us those who led us astray from among the jinn and humans so we may put them under our feet and make them among the lowest."
Those who say, "Our Lord is God," and then stand firm, the angels descend upon them saying, "Do not fear and do not grieve. Rejoice in the Paradise you were promised."
We are your allies in this worldly life and in the Hereafter. There you will have whatever your souls desire, and there you will have whatever you ask for.
A welcome from the Forgiving, the Merciful.
Who speaks better than one who calls to God, does good, and says, "I am among those who submit"?
Good and evil are not equal. Repel evil with what is better, and the one between whom and you was enmity will become like a close, warm friend.
But none attains this except those who are patient, and none attains it except one of great fortune.
If a provocation from Satan stirs you, seek refuge in God. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Among His signs are the night and the day, the sun and the moon. Do not prostrate to the sun or the moon, but prostrate to God who created them, if it is Him you worship.
But if they are too arrogant, those in the presence of your Lord glorify Him night and day, and they never grow weary.
Among His signs is that you see the earth barren, but when We send down water upon it, it stirs and swells. The One who gave it life will give life to the dead. He has power over all things.
Those who distort Our verses are not hidden from Us. Is one who is cast into the Fire better, or one who comes secure on the Day of Resurrection? Do as you wish. He sees everything you do.
Those who reject the Reminder when it comes to them—for it is an invincible Book.
Falsehood cannot approach it from before it or behind it. It is a revelation from One who is Wise, Praiseworthy.
Nothing is said to you except what was said to the messengers before you. Your Lord is possessor of forgiveness and possessor of painful punishment.
Had We made it a Quran in a foreign tongue, they would have said, "Why are its verses not made clear? A foreign language and an Arab?" Say, "For those who believe, it is guidance and healing. But those who do not believe have deafness in their ears, and it is blindness upon them. They are being called from a distant place."
We gave Moses the Scripture, but disputes arose over it. Were it not for a word that had already gone forth from your Lord, judgment would have been passed between them. They remain in troubling doubt about it.
Whoever does good, it is for their own soul. Whoever does evil, it is against it. Your Lord is never unjust to His servants.
To Him is referred the knowledge of the Hour. No fruit emerges from its sheath, and no female conceives or gives birth except with His knowledge. On the Day He calls out to them, "Where are My partners?" they will say, "We declare to You: none of us can bear witness to that."
What they used to call upon before will vanish from them, and they will realize there is no escape for them.
The human being never tires of asking for good, but when hardship touches him, he becomes hopeless and despairing.
If We let him taste mercy from Us after hardship has touched him, he will surely say, "This is mine by right, and I do not think the Hour will ever come. But if I am returned to my Lord, I will surely have the best with Him." We will inform those who disbelieved of what they did, and We will make them taste a harsh punishment.
When We bestow favor upon the human being, he turns away and distances himself. But when hardship touches him, he is full of endless prayer.
Say, "Consider: if this is from God and you reject it, who is more astray than one who is in extreme opposition?"
We will show them Our signs on the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. Is it not enough that your Lord is a witness over all things?
They are truly in doubt about meeting their Lord. He truly encompasses all things.
