Ha Mim.
Ayn Sin Qaf.
Thus does God, the Almighty, the Wise, reveal to you and to those before you.
To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth, and He is the Most High, the Supreme.
The heavens nearly rupture from above, while the angels glorify their Lord with praise and seek forgiveness for those on earth. God is truly the Forgiving, the Merciful.
Those who take protectors besides Him, God is watching over them, and you are not their guardian.
Thus We have revealed to you an Arabic Quran so that you may warn the Mother of Cities and those around it, and warn of the Day of Gathering about which there is no doubt: a group in Paradise and a group in the Blaze.
Had God willed, He could have made them one community, but He admits into His mercy whom He wills. The wrongdoers have no protector and no helper.
Or have they taken protectors besides Him? God is the Protector. He gives life to the dead, and He has power over all things.
Whatever you differ about, its judgment rests with God. That is God, my Lord. In Him I trust, and to Him I turn.
Originator of the heavens and the earth, He made for you mates from among yourselves, and mates among the livestock, multiplying you through this. Nothing is like Him, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.
To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. He extends provision to whom He wills and restricts it. He has knowledge of all things.
He has ordained for you the same religion He enjoined upon Noah, and what We revealed to you, and what We enjoined upon Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: uphold the religion and do not divide over it. What you call the polytheists to is hard for them. God chooses for Himself whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns to Him.
They did not divide until after knowledge came to them, out of rivalry among themselves. Were it not for a word that had preceded from your Lord until an appointed time, judgment would have been passed between them. Those who inherited the Scripture after them are in troubling doubt about it.
So to this call, and stand firm as you have been commanded. Do not follow their desires. Say, "I believe in every Scripture God has sent down, and I have been commanded to judge fairly between you. God is our Lord and your Lord. We have our deeds and you have yours. There is no argument between us and you. God will bring us together, and to Him is the final return."
Those who argue about God after He has been answered, their argument is null before their Lord. Upon them is wrath, and for them is a severe punishment.
God is the One who sent down the Book with truth and the balance. What will make you realize? Perhaps the Hour is near.
Those who do not believe in it seek to hasten it, while those who believe are fearful of it and know that it is the truth. Those who dispute about the Hour are far astray.
God is subtle with His servants. He provides for whoever He wills, and He is the Powerful, the Mighty.
Whoever desires the harvest of the Hereafter, We will increase his harvest. Whoever desires the harvest of this world, We will give him some of it, but he will have no share in the Hereafter.
Or do they have partners who have prescribed for them a religion that God has not authorized? Were it not for the decisive word, judgment would have already been passed between them. The wrongdoers will have a painful punishment.
You will see the wrongdoers fearful of what they have committed, and it will fall upon them. But those who believe and do righteous deeds will be in the meadows of Paradise, having whatever they wish with their Lord. That is the great favor.
That is what God gives as good news to His servants who believe and do righteous deeds. Say, "I ask no reward from you for this, only love for those close." Whoever commits a good deed, We will increase its goodness for him. God is Forgiving, Appreciative.
Or do they say, "He has fabricated a lie against God"? If God willed, He could seal your heart. God erases falsehood and establishes truth by His words. He knows well what is in the hearts.
He is the One who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons sins, and He knows what you do.
He responds to those who believe and do righteous deeds, and increases them from His favor. But the disbelievers will have a severe punishment.
If God were to expand provision for His servants, they would spread corruption on earth. But He sends down in measured amounts whatever He wills. He is fully aware of His servants, All-Seeing.
He is the One who sends down rain after they have despaired, and spreads His mercy. He is the Protector, the Praiseworthy.
Among His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the creatures He has scattered throughout them. He is capable of gathering them whenever He wills.
Whatever disaster strikes you is because of what your own hands have earned, and He pardons much.
You cannot escape on earth, and you have no protector or helper besides God.
Among His signs are the ships sailing through the sea like mountains.
If He wills, He stills the wind and they remain motionless on its surface. In that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.
Or He wrecks them for what they have committed, though He pardons much.
Those who dispute Our signs will know they have no escape.
Whatever you have been given is only the enjoyment of this worldly life, but what is with God is better and more lasting for those who believe and place their trust in their Lord.
Those who avoid major sins and shameful acts, and when they are angered, they forgive.
Those who respond to their Lord, establish prayer, conduct their affairs by mutual consultation, and spend from what We have provided them.
Those who, when oppression strikes them, defend themselves.
The repayment of a wrong is a wrong equal to it, but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation, his reward is with God. He does not love the wrongdoers.
Whoever defends themselves after being wronged, there is no blame against them.
Blame lies only against those who wrong people and commit aggression in the land without right. For them is a painful punishment.
Whoever endures patiently and forgives, that is true resolve in all matters.
Whoever God leaves astray has no protector after Him. You will see the wrongdoers, when they see the punishment, saying, "Is there any way back?"
You will see them brought before it, humbled by disgrace, looking with furtive glances. Those who believed will say, "The true losers are those who lost themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection." The wrongdoers are in everlasting punishment.
They had no protectors to help them besides God. Whoever God leaves astray has no way out.
Respond to your Lord before a Day comes that cannot be turned back by God. You will have no refuge on that Day, and no denial.
If they turn away, We have not sent you as a guardian over them. Your only duty is to deliver the message. When We give a person a taste of mercy from Us, he rejoices in it. But when misfortune strikes them because of what their own hands have done, the human being becomes ungrateful.
To God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He wills. He grants daughters to whom He wills and grants sons to whom He wills.
Or He pairs them, both males and females, and He makes whom He wills barren. He is All-Knowing, All-Powerful.
It is not for any human being that God should speak to him except through revelation, or from behind a veil, or by sending a messenger to reveal by His permission what He wills. He is Most High, Most Wise.
Thus We have revealed to you a spirit from Our command. You did not know what the Scripture was, nor what faith was, but We made it a light by which We guide whom We will of Our servants. You are guiding to a straight path.
The path of God, to whom belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. To God all matters return.
