Ha Mim.
By the clear Book.
We sent it down on a blessed night. We have always been warning.
On that night every wise matter is made distinct.
A command from Us. We have always been sending messengers.
As a mercy from your Lord. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Lord of the heavens and the earth and everything between them, if you would be certain.
There is no god but Him. He gives life and causes death. Your Lord and the Lord of your earliest ancestors.
But they are in doubt, playing around.
So watch for the Day when the sky brings visible smoke.
Engulfing the people. This is a painful punishment.
Our Lord, lift this punishment from us. We are believers.
How can they take heed when a clear messenger already came to them?
Then they turned away from him and said, "A madman, taught by others."
We will lift the punishment for a little while, but you will return to your ways.
The Day We strike with the greatest strike, We will take Our vengeance.
Before them We tested the people of Pharaoh, and a noble messenger came to them.
Saying, "Hand over to me the servants of God. I am a trustworthy messenger to you."
"Do not exalt yourselves against God. I come to you with clear authority."
"I seek refuge in my Lord and your Lord from your stoning me."
"If you do not believe me, then leave me alone."
So he called upon his Lord, "These are a criminal people."
"Travel with My servants by night. You will be pursued."
"Leave the sea parted. They are an army destined to drown."
How many gardens and springs they left behind.
And crops and noble dwellings.
And comforts in which they delighted.
So it was. And We made another people inherit it all.
Neither the sky nor the earth wept for them, and they were not given respite.
We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating punishment.
From Pharaoh, who was arrogant and excessive.
We chose them knowingly over all peoples.
We gave them signs containing a clear test.
These people say,
"There is nothing but our first death, and we will not be resurrected."
"Bring back our forefathers if you are truthful."
Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for they were criminals.
We did not create the heavens and the earth and everything between them in play.
We created them only in truth, but most of them do not know.
The Day of Separation is the appointed time for all of them.
A day when no ally will benefit another ally at all, nor will they be helped.
Except those God shows mercy. He is the Almighty, the Merciful.
The tree of Zaqqum.
Is the food of the sinful.
Like molten metal, it boils in the bellies.
Like the boiling of scalding water.
"Seize him and drag him into the depths of Hell."
"Then pour over his head the torment of scalding water."
"Taste this! You are the mighty, the noble."
This is what you used to doubt.
Those who were mindful of God will be in a secure place.
In gardens and springs.
Wearing fine silk and brocade, facing one another.
So it will be, and We will pair them with companions of beautiful eyes.
They will call for every kind of fruit there, secure.
They will not taste death there except the first death, and He will have protected them from the punishment of Hell.
A favor from your Lord. That is the supreme triumph.
We have made this easy in your language so that they may remember.
So watch. They too are watching.
