| Arabic | | هُوَ الَّذِي يُسَيِّرُكُمْ فِي الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا كُنتُمْ فِي الْفُلْكِ وَجَرَيْنَ بِهِم بِرِيحٍ طَيِّبَةٍ وَفَرِحُوا بِهَا جَاءَتْهَا رِيحٌ عَاصِفٌ وَجَاءَهُمُ الْمَوْجُ مِن كُلِّ مَكَانٍ وَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُمْ أُحِيطَ بِهِمْ دَعَوُا اللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ لَئِنْ أَنجَيْتَنَا مِنْ هَٰذِهِ لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِين |  |

| and they sail | wajarayna | وَجَرَيْنَ | ج ر ى | |
| with a wind | birīḥin | بِرِيحٍ | ر و ح | |
| good, | ṭayyibatin | طَيِّبَةٍ | ط ى ب | |
| and they rejoice | wafariḥū | وَفَرِحُوا | ف ر ح | |
| comes to it | jāathā | جَاءَتْهَا | ج ى ا | |
| stormy, | ʿāṣifun | عَاصِفٌ | ع ص ف | |
| and comes to them | wajāahumu | وَجَاءَهُمُ | ج ى ا | |
| the waves | l-mawju | الْمَوْجُ | م و ج | |
| place, | makānin | مَكَانٍ | ك و ن | |
| and they assume | waẓannū | وَظَنُّوا | ظ ن ن | |
| that they | annahum | أَنَّهُمْ | ا ن ن | |
| are surrounded | uḥīṭa | أُحِيطَ | ح و ط | |
| They call | daʿawū | دَعَوُا | د ع و | |
| sincerely | mukh'liṣīna | مُخْلِصِينَ | خ ل ص | |
| (in) the religion, | l-dīna | الدِّينَ | د ى ن | |
| (saying), "If | la-in | لَئِنْ | ل ا ن | |
| You save us | anjaytanā | أَنْجَيْتَنَا | ن ج و | |
| surely we will be | lanakūnanna | لَنَكُونَنَّ | ك و ن | |
| the thankful." | l-shākirīna | الشَّاكِرِينَ | ش ك ر | |
