| Arabic | | وَإِذَا جَاءَهُمْ أَمْرٌ مِّنَ الْأَمْنِ أَوِ الْخَوْفِ أَذَاعُوا بِهِ وَلَوْ رَدُّوهُ إِلَى الرَّسُولِ وَإِلَىٰ أُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنْهُمْ لَعَلِمَهُ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَنبِطُونَهُ مِنْهُمْ وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ لَاتَّبَعْتُمُ الشَّيْطَانَ إِلَّا قَلِيلً |  |

| they (had) referred it | raddūhu | رَدُّوهُ | ر د د | |
| the Messenger | l-rasūli | الرَّسُولِ | ر س ل | |
| (having) authority | l-amri | الْأَمْرِ | ا م ر | |
| among them, | min'hum | مِنْهُمْ | م ن | |
| surely would have known it | laʿalimahu | لَعَلِمَهُ | ع ل م | |
| those who | alladhīna | الَّذِينَ | ا ل ل ذ ى | |
| draw correct conclusion (from) it | yastanbiṭūnahu | يَسْتَنْبِطُونَهُ | ن ب ط | |
| among them. | min'hum | مِنْهُمْ | م ن | |
| (had been the) bounty | faḍlu | فَضْلُ | ف ض ل | |
| (of) Allah | l-lahi | اللَّهِ | ا ل ه | |
| on you | ʿalaykum | عَلَيْكُمْ | ع ل ى | |
| and His Mercy, | waraḥmatuhu | وَرَحْمَتُهُ | ر ح م | |
| surely you (would have) followed | la-ittabaʿtumu | لَاتَّبَعْتُمُ | ت ب ع | |
| the Shaitaan | l-shayṭāna | الشَّيْطَانَ | ش ط ن | |
| a few. | qalīlan | قَلِيلًا | ق ل ل | |
