Arabic Source and Roman Transliteration

Arabic		فَإِمَّا تَثْقَفَنَّهُمْ فِي الْحَرْبِ فَشَرِّدْ بِهِم مَّنْ خَلْفَهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُون
Transliteration		Fa-imma tathqafannahum fee alharbi fasharrid bihim man khalfahum laAAallahum yaththakkaroona
Transliteration-2		fa-immā tathqafannahum fī l-ḥarbi fasharrid bihim man khalfahum laʿallahum yadhakkarūn

Generally Accepted Translations of the Meaning
Muhammad Asad		if thou find them at war [with you], make of them a fearsome example for those who follow them, so that they might take it to heart
M. M. Pickthall		If thou comest on them in the war, deal with them so as to strike fear in those who are behind them, that haply they may remember
