General Root Meaning
Calculate, to count/number. To strike with a pebble. To deny or refuse, cast a pebble or small stone at a person, to smite a person or thing with a pebble or small stone, to have a stone in one's bladder or kidneys, to have a hardening of the urine in the bladder (so that it becomes like a pebble or small stone), to number/count/calculate/count/compute a thing, to reckon a thing, reach the last number of a thing, collect into an aggregate by numbering, retain a thing in the memory, understand a thing, register/record the number of a thing, comprehend or know a thing altogether.

(On the) Day (when) will raise them Allah all and inform them of what they did. has recorded it Allah while they forgot it. And Allah (is) over all things a Witness.

And (will) be placed the Book and you will see the criminals fearful of what (is) in it, and they will say, "Oh, woe to us! What (is) for this [the] Book, not leaves a small and not a great except has enumerated it?" And they will find what they did presented. And not deals unjustly your Lord (with) anyone.

73:20
Indeed, your Lord knows that you stand (a little) less than two-thirds (of) the night, and half of it and a third of it and (so do) a group of those who (are) with you. And Allah determines the night and the day. He knows that not you count it, so He has turned to you, so recite what is easy of the Quran. He knows that there will be among you sick and others traveling in the land seeking of (the) Bounty (of) Allah, and others fighting in (the) way (of) Allah. So recite what is easy of it, and establish the prayer and give the zakah and loan Allah a loan goodly. And whatever you send forth for yourselves of good, you will find it with Allah. It (will be) better and greater (in) reward. And seek forgiveness (of) Allah. Indeed, Allah (is) Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

16:18
And if you should count the Favors (of) Allah not you could enumerate them. Indeed, Allah (is) Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

14:34
And He gave you of all what you asked of Him. And if you count (the) Favor (of) Allah not you will (be able to) count th Indeed, the mankind (is) surely unjust (and) ungrateful.

  
wa-aḥṣū   (1)

65:1
O Prophet! When you divorce [the] women, then divorce them for their waiting period, and keep count (of) the waiting period, and fear Allah, your Lord. (Do) not expel them from their houses, and not they should leave except that they commit an immorality clear. And these (are the) limits (of) Allah. And whoever transgresses (the) limits (of) Allah then certainly he has wronged himself. Not you know; Perhaps Allah will bring about, after that, a matter.

That He may make evident that indeed, they have conveyed (the) Messages (of) their Lord; and He has encompassed what (is) with them and He takes account (of) all things (in) number."
