By those lined up in rows.
And those holding back.
And those reciting the reminder.
Your god is indeed one.
The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them and the Lord of the sunrises.
We have adorned the heaven of this world with the adornment of stars.
And a protection against every rebellious devil.
They cannot listen to the highest counsel and are pelted from every side.
Chased away, and theirs is a lasting punishment.
Except for one who tries to do so by stealth, then a bright shooting star pursues him.
So ask them, are they stronger in creation or whom else We created, for We created them from sticky clay.
Yet you are amazed and they make fun.
And when they are reminded they do not remember.
And when they see a sign they belittle it.
And say: this is only plain magic.
When we have died and are dust and bones, are we going to be raised again?
Or our forefathers?
Say: yes, and you will be submissive.
For it will be a single shout and they will see.
And they will say: woe to us, this is the day of repayment.
This is the day of division which you used to deny.
Gather the wrongdoers and their partners and all that they served,
Besides Allah, and guide them to the path of hell-fire.
And arrest them, for they will be questioned.
What is the matter with you that you don´t help each other?
But today they have surrendered.
And some of them approach others, asking each other,
Saying: you came to us (claiming to be) from the right.
They say: but you were not believers.
And we had no authority over you, but you were transgressing people.
So the word of our Lord came to pass for us that we had to taste it.
And we led you astray for we were astray.
So today they will share in the punishment.
For this is how We deal with the sinners.
When they are told that there is no god but Allah they are arrogant.
And they say: are we going to abandon our gods for a possessed poet?
But he brought the truth and the messengers were right.
You will taste the painful punishment.
And you will only be punished for what you did.
Except the sincere servants of Allah.
For them is a known provision.
Fruit, and they will be honoured.
In gardens of blessings.
They will face each other happily.
They will be waited upon with a cup of flowing beverage.
White (in colour), delicious to drink.
With no harmful effect in it nor will they be drained by it.
And with them will be exclusive women of rare beauty.
As if they were hidden white pearls.
Then some of them approach others, asking each other.
A speaker amongst them says: I had a friend.
Who said: are you confirming the truth of this?
That when we have died and are dust and bones, are we going to be judged?
He says: do you want to take a look?
Then he looks and sees him in the midst of hell-fire.
He says: by Allah, he almost ruined me.
And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I would have been called to account.
So we will not die?
Except for our first death, and we will not be punished.
For this is the ultimate success.
For the like of this should everybody work.
Is this a better reward or the tree of Zaqqum?
For We made it a trial for the wrongdoers.
It is a tree which grows from the base of hell-fire.
Its fruit is like the heads of devils.
Then they will be eating from it and filling their stomachs with it.
Then they will have a cocktail of boiling water on top of it.
Then they will be returned to hell-fire.
For they found their fathers astray.
Then they eagerly followed into their footsteps.
And most of the earliest communities before them went astray.
And We did send warners amongst them.
So see what the outcome of those warned was like.
Except the sincere servants of Allah.
And We previously called Nuh (Noah), and he responded well.
And We rescued him and his family from the tremendous distress.
And We made his descendants the survivors.
And We left him to be remembered by those afterwards.
Peace be with Nuh (Noah) in all the worlds.
For this is how We reward those who do good.
For he is of Our believing servants.
Then We drowned the others.
And of his faction is Ibrahim (Abraham).
When he came to his Lord with a clean heart.
When he said to his father and his people: what do you serve?
Do you want invented gods besides Allah?
So what do you think of the Lord of all worlds?
Then he took a look at the stars.
Then he said: I feel sick.
Then they turned away from him.
So he turned to their gods and said: don´t you eat?
What is the matter with you that you don´t speak?
Then he struck them with his right hand.
Then they hurried towards him.
He said: do you serve what you carve yourselves?
When Allah created you and what you do?
They said: build a structure for him and throw him into the fire.
So they wanted to plot against him, but We made them the lowest.
And he said: I will go towards my Lord, He will guide me.
My Lord, make me from amongst the righteous.
Then We gave him good news of a gentle son.
Then when he was old enough to go out with him, he said, oh my son, I saw in my dream that I should sacrifice you, so see what you think. He said: oh my father, do what you have been commanded, you will find me if Allah pleases of the patient.
So when they had both submitted and he turned him face down,
We called him: oh Ibrahim (Abraham)!
You have already fulfilled the dream; for this is how we reward those who do good.
For this is the clear test.
And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice.
And We left him to be remembered by those afterwards.
Peace be upon Ibrahim (Abraham).
This is how We reward those who do good.
For he is of Our believing servants.
And We gave him good news of Ishaq (Isaac) as a prophet from amongst the righteous.
And We blessed him and Ishaq (Isaac), and of their descendants are those who do good and those who clearly wrong themselves.
And We already favoured Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron).
And We rescued them and their people from the tremendous distress.
And We helped them and they were the victorious.
And We gave them the clarifying book.
And We guided them on the straight path.
And We left them to be remembered by those afterwards.
Peace be upon Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron).
For this is how We reward those who do good.
For they are of Our believing servants.
And Ilyas (Elijah) is one of the messengers.
When he said to his people: will you not beware (of Allah)?
Do you call on Baal and abandon the best of creators?
Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers.
But they denied him, so they will be presented.
Except the sincere servants of Allah.
And We left him to be remembered by those afterwards.
Peace be upon Ilyas (Elijah).
For this is how We reward those who do good.
For he is of Our believing servants.
And Lut (Lot) is one of the messengers.
When We rescued him and his family altogether.
Except an old woman who stayed behind.
Then We destroyed the others.
And you pass by them in the mornings.
And at night, so don´t you understand?
And Yunus (Jonah) is one of the messengers.
When he ran away to the laden ship.
Then after drawing lots was defeated.
Then the fish swallowed him whilst he blamed himself.
And had he not been of those who glorify (Allah),
He would have stayed in its belly till the day when they are resurrected.
Then We flung him into the open whilst he was sick.
And We grew a marrow plant for him.
And We sent him to a hundred thousand (people) or more.
Then they believed and We gave them provision for a while.
So ask them: does your Lord have daughters whilst they have sons?
Or did We create the angels female whilst they were witnesses?
It is of their inventions that they say:
Allah has fathered children, and they are lying.
That he has chosen daughters over sons.
What is the matter with you, how do you judge?
Don´t you reflect?
Or do you have a clear authority?
Then bring your letter (of authority) if you are truthful.
And they claimed a relationship between Him and the Jinn, when the Jinn already knew that they will be presented.
Glorified is Allah above what they make out.
Except the sincere servants of Allah.
For you and what you served,
You will not tempt anyone against Him,
Except him who enters the hell-fire.
And each of us has a known place.
And We are the ones lined up.
And We are the ones who glorify.
And they used to say:
If only we had a reminder from the earlier communities,
We would have been sincere servants of Allah.
But they rejected him, so they shall soon know.
And Our word has gone before regarding Our messengers,
That they will be helped,
And that Our forces will be victorious.
So turn away from them for a while.
And watch them, for soon they will see.
Do they hasten Our punishment?
Then when it comes down on their habitations, bad is the awakening of those who have been warned.
And turn away from them for a while.
And watch, for soon they will see.
Glorified is your Lord, the Lord of Might, above what they make out.
And peace be upon the messengers.
And Allah is praised, the Lord of all worlds
