29:2
Mankind thought that they will be left to say, 'We have believed,' and they will not be tried?
29:3
And surely, certainly We tried those who were before them; and God will surely, definitely know those who are truthful, and He will surely, definitely know the liars.
29:4
Or those who do evil deeds thought that they would outstrip Us. Evil is what they judge.
29:5
Whoever hopes for the meeting of God, then indeed, the term of God is surely coming; and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
29:6
And whoever strove, then he only strives for his soul; indeed, God is surely free of need from the worlds.
29:7
And those who believed and did good works, We will surely, definitely cover from them their evil deeds; and We will surely, definitely recompense them the best of that which they used to do.
29:8
And We have instructed man with his parents, goodness; and if they strive against you that you may associate that which you have no knowledge of with Me, then do not obey them; to Me is your return, and I will inform you of what you used to do.
29:9
And those who believed and did good works, We will surely, definitely make them enter among the righteous.
29:10
And among mankind is he who says, 'We have believed in God,' then when he is annoyed for God, he makes the trial of mankind like the punishment of God. And surely if help from your Lord comes, they will surely, definitely say, 'Indeed, we were with you;' and does God not know best what is in the breasts of the worlds?
29:11
And God will surely, definitely know those who have believed, and He will surely, definitely know the hypocrites.
29:12
And those who disbelieved said to those who believed, 'Follow our way, and let us bear your sins.' And they will not bear anything of their sins; indeed, they are surely liars.
29:13
And they will surely, definitely bear their burdens, and burdens with their burdens; and they will surely, definitely be asked on the Day of Resurrection about what they used to forge.
29:14
And surely, certainly We sent Noah to his people, and He tarried among them a thousand years except fifty years; then the flood seized them while they were wrongdoers.
29:15
Then We saved him and the fellows of the ship, and We made it a sign for the worlds.
29:16
And Abraham when he said to his people, 'Serve God and fear Him, that is better for you if you know.
29:17
You only serve idols besides God, and you create a lie; indeed, those whom you serve besides God do not possess provision for you. So seek the provision with God, and serve Him, and give thanks to Him; to Him you will be returned.
29:18
And if you deny, then certainly, nations before you denied. And not except the clear communication is upon the messenger.'
29:19
And did they not see how God originates the creation, then He repeats it? Indeed, that for God is easy.
29:20
Say, 'Travel in the earth and see how He originated the creation; then God will produce the last production; indeed, God is powerful over everything.'
29:21
He punishes whom He wills, and He has mercy on whom He wills; and to Him you will be returned.
29:22
And you will not escape in the earth nor in the heaven; and there is no patron for you besides God and no helper.
29:23
And those who disbelieved in the signs of God and meeting him, those have despaired of My mercy; and those, for them is painful punishment.
29:24
And the answer of his people was not except that they said, 'Kill him or burn him.' Then God saved him from the fire; indeed, in that surely are signs for people who believe.
29:25
And he said, 'You have only taken idols besides God. There is love between you in the worldly life; then on the Day of Resurrection some of you will disbelieve in some, and some of you will curse some, and your refuge is the fire, and there are no helpers for you.'
29:26
Then Lot believed him; and he said, 'Indeed, I am an emigrant to my Lord. Indeed He, He is the Mighty, the Wise.'
29:27
And We gave Isaac and Jacob to him; and We put in his offspring the prophethood and the Book; and We gave him his reward in the world; and indeed he, in the hereafter, is surely among the righteous.
29:28
And Lot when he said to his people, 'Indeed, you surely commit the immorality, no one from the worlds has preceded you in it.
29:29
Do you indeed, surely come to the men, and you cut off the way, and you commit the bad in your assemblies?' And the answer of his people was not except that they said, 'Come to us with the punishment of God, if you are of the truthful.'
29:30
He said, 'My Lord! Help me against the evil-doing people.'
29:31
And when Our messengers came to Abraham with the glad tidings, they said, 'Indeed, we will destroy the people of this town. Indeed, its people are wrongdoers.'
29:32
He said, 'Indeed, in it is Lot.' They said, 'We know best who is in it; we will surely, definitely save him and his family, except his wife, she is of those who tarry.'
29:33
And when Our messengers came to Lot, he grieved for them, and he was straitened for them, uneasy; and they said, 'Do not fear, and do not grieve; indeed, we will save you and your family, except your wife, she is of those who tarry.
29:34
Indeed, we will send down upon the people of this, the town, a punishment from the sky, because they were disobedient.'
29:35
And surely, certainly We left of it a sign, a clear proof for people who are intelligent.
29:36
And to Midian their brother Shuayb, and he said, 'O my people! serve God and hope for the Last Day; and do not do mischief in the earth, working corruption.'
29:37
Then they called him a liar; so the earthquake seized them, then they became prone in their home.
29:38
And 'Ad and Thamud, and certainly, it was clear to you from their dwellings; and the devil beautified for them their works, then he hindered them from the way, and they were endowed with sight.
29:39
And Korah and Pharaoh and Haman; and surely, certainly Moses came to them with the clear proofs, then they were proud in the earth, and they were not foremost.
29:40
And each We seized for his sin; and among them is he upon whom We sent down a storm of stones; and among them is he whom the noise seized; and among them is he whom We caused the earth to sink with; and among them is he whom We drowned. And God was not to wrong them, but they were wronging their souls.
29:41
The similitude of those who took patrons besides God is like the similitude of the spider that took a house; and indeed, the weakest of houses is surely the house of the spider, if only they know.
29:42
Indeed, God knows what thing they call on besides Him; and He is the Mighty, the Wise.
29:43
And those, the similitudes, We strike them for mankind, and none will comprehend them except those who know.
29:44
God created the heavens and the earth with the truth; indeed, in that surely is a sign for the believers.
29:45
Recite what has been inspired to you of the Book; and be steadfast in the prayer; indeed, the prayer forbids from the immorality and the bad; and surely the remembrance of God is greater; and God knows what you do.
29:46
And do not dispute with the people of the Book, except for that which is better, except those who did wrong among them; and say, 'We believe in that which was sent down to us, and was sent down to you; and our god and your god is one, and we are submitters to Him.'
29:47
And thus We sent down to you the Book; and those to whom We gave the Book believe in it. And among these is he who believes in it. And none deny Our signs except the disbelievers.
29:48
And you were not reciting a book before it, nor writing it with your right hand, then surely, the vain-doers surely will doubt.
29:49
Nay, it is signs, clear proofs in the breasts of those who were given the knowledge. And none deny Our signs except the wrongdoers.
29:50
And they said, 'If only signs were sent down to him from his Lord.' Say, 'The signs are only with God, and I am only a clear warner.'
29:51
And did it not suffice them that We, We sent down to you the Book which is recited to them? Indeed, in that surely is mercy and a reminder for people who believe.
29:52
Say, 'God sufficed for a witness between me and you; He knows what is in the heavens and the earth; and those who believed in the falsehood and disbelieved in God, those, they are the losers.'
29:53
They ask you to hasten with the punishment; and if not for a named term, surely, the punishment would have come to them. And it will surely, definitely come to them suddenly while they do not perceive.
29:54
They ask you to hasten with the punishment; and indeed, Hell will surely encompass the disbelievers.
29:55
On the day the punishment will cover them from above them and from beneath their feet, and He will say, 'Taste what you used to do.'
29:56
O my servants, those who believed! Indeed, My earth is spacious, So Me, So serve Me.
29:57
Every soul will taste death, then to Us you will be returned.
29:58
And those who believed and did good works, We will surely, definitely lodge them in upper chambers of the garden beneath which the rivers flow, to dwell forever in it; excellent is the reward of the workers.
29:59
Those who were patient and upon their Lord they rely.
29:60
And how many a creature carries not its provision? God provides for it and for you; and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
29:61
And surely if you ask them: 'Who created the heavens and the earth, and subjected the sun and the moon?' They would surely, definitely say, 'God.' So how are they turned away?
29:62
God extends the provision to whom He wills of His servants and He straitens for him; indeed, God knows everything.
29:63
And surely if you ask them: 'Who sent down water from the heaven, then with it gave the earth life after its death?' They would surely, definitely say, 'God.' Say, 'Praise be to God.' Nay, most of them are not intelligent.
29:64
And this, the worldly life, is not except diversion and play; and indeed, the home of the hereafter, surely, it is the life, if only they know.
29:65
And when they ride in the ship, they call on God, sincere to Him in the religion; then when He saves them to the land, behold, they associate partners,
29:66
That they may be ungrateful for what We gave them, and that they may enjoy, so soon they will know.
29:67
And did they not see that We, We have made a safe sanctuary while mankind is being snatched away around them? So do they believe in the falsehood and in the favour of God they disbelieve?
29:68
And who is more unjust than he who forged a lie against God, or called the truth a lie when it came to him? Is there not in Hell an abode for the disbelievers?
29:69
And those who strove for Us, We will surely, definitely guide them to Our ways; and indeed, God is surely with the good-doers.
